Its not over a week for the Apple iPhone 3G to be released in the UK with records saying that Apple Sold around a million handsets in the first weekend. When the first Apple iPhone’s were released it took them 74days to reach 1 million sales but this time within a week the sales were met and Steve Jobs was quite happy about this.
“iPhone 3G had a stunning opening weekend,” said Steve Jobs, Apple’s CE
These new 3G handsets which are said to be released in India by this year end via Vodafone with a expected pricing of around 12000-15000Rs. Currently Apple iPhones 3G are sold in UK via AT&T services at 199$ for 8GB Model & 299$ for 16Gb model and extra charges for subscriptions, activations and monthly call charges which are also going to charge almost the handset’s cost. Free Apple iphone upgrades are available for older versions ie Firmwire 1.1.2 , 1.1.3 and 1.1.4 and these handsets were easily unlocked using a small trick under 5 minutes.
The new Apple iPhone version ie 3G is claimed to be non-unlockable but within 4days of its launch there are news that they were unlocked by 2 guys, check out the following video for more information and tutorial on how was this made possible.
Another company which offered unlocking services ie ziphone.org has also released a news saying that their Beta 7 version is capabling of unlocking the 3G version. Their status claims - patched and unlocked with all carriers supported now, though only 2 carriers are currently available in UK at the moment.

I’am these guys would find a way to jail break iPhones,because they can make money only till Apple launches it phone.This I feel would force Apple to launch iPhone world wide.Though the full potential of the iPhone can only be utilised with the correct networks which offer 3G services.

had heard that iPhone was going to b launched on 11th of this month in India … had gone to the dealer too but was not available with him

Apple has selected 2 service providers in all the 70 countries. thus in India its Airtel and Vodafone. Both are gonna launch Iphone this September
