Its time for everyone of you to upgrade your wordpress to the latest 2.5 version in order to stay secure because the prior wordpress 2.3 versions are having some serious security holes and your blog get hacked anytime, the way one of my blog got hacked yesterday which the wordpress theme’s index page replaced with the hackers page.
Another problem with these older versions of wordpress are that the hackers are injecting links into your blogs which can be direct links or else iframes which once found via Google or any search engines would be later on treated as Badware Warning malicious software Information and you will start losing traffic from Google. Here is a screenshot of one website which has some injected links and now is shown as a harmful website in Google search.
There are many wordpress users who delay in upgrading their wordpress blogs in a fear that their theme may get broken since they were coded for 2.3 or else the plugins might not work but the main point is that your wordpress blog is more important than the themes or plugins installed in it because you should always keep in mind about the security in the first preferance.
The main draw back i felt in this new version is that everything in the admin section is aligned to the left and especially the widgets options are shown one by one instead of all the widget sidebar’s shown on a single page where you can drag and drop, the new post page also has a kind of confusion, though even though after all this make sure you upgrade your wordpress blogs to 2.5 version.
