Videocon is going to launch their much awaited DTH venture – called as D2h- Direct To Home service this April all over India on 27th. The service is going to be launched with 1050 distributors and 75000 retailers along with media arm Bharat Business Channel and a strong sales & service staff.
After 6 companies in India, this is going to be the seventh company in India with each of them already in huge losses because of the starter offers, competition price wars and investments, but these companies are sure that they would make their money back in the future once they have got established in the market with huge number of subscribers.
The company is planning to launch with 5-6 different packages, the company is planning to sell away 70-80 per cent IDTVs[integrated digital televisions] and 20 per cent STBs in the first year trying to capture 10% of the total market share. Lets see with these price wars will the company be able to sustain the expenses and reach their targets or not.
