Many people have got fears about the upcoming wordpress 2.7 version because its going to be a super change in the admin part with completely new structure and the wordpress team wants to make sure that its going to be more user friendly.
The horizontal menu in the admin section for Write New Posts, Edit Posts etc would be in the new vertical format in the level of most important to least used.
The New structure of ‘Add New Post’ would have a different layout with the ‘Word Count’ option to be shown below the Post section instead of the previously shown right part below Publish options.
The Publish option would be the same location at the right side of the structure and in this structure the Left menu is available in the whole left part with options like Add New, Edit, Tags, Categories, Media, Links, Pages & Comments.
This new structure with the new layouts would be a pleasure for professional-bloggers but for people who are new to blogging and who have started using the currently available 2.6.x versions of wordpress would get really confused with this and would evern try to move away from wordpress blogging playform because of regularly updating versions. I do support upgradations in terms of security and features but i dont support the new layouts because they just mean more time waste in order to get habitated with those structures.
