I have a plugin called, the ping list checker" for WordPress. The plugin is free and you can find more information about it at. spunkyjones.com/wordpress/ping-list-checker-plugin/ You should also try the MaxBlogPress Ping Optimizer plugin because it will keep you from double pinging the services every time to re-edit a post. It will also tell you which ping services were successful, so you can get rid of ones that no longer work.
