Check the source code and found everything is perfect. The wp super cache plugin is also working and creating pages. There is nothing you need to worry about now.

When you are logged in as Wp-Admin, the blog will show you live pages instead of the cached ones because of one of the option of wp-cache plugin. You need to log out and check out the results.

When you see the source code, my site shows this at the end -

But any other site with WP-Super cache enabled shows this -

Its showing live page details instead of cached page. Why is this happening?

Hello,
Its good that you have changed the Permalinks to a SEO Optimized one. Next for removing the encrypted footer code, you can try out http://www.tareeinternet.com/scripts/decrypt.php this website where in you need to paste the php code found generally in the footer.txt file and click on the decode option.

As mentioned earlier, if its changed to 644, it wont be updated through the plugin page. This is the reason read write access of 777 was recommended.

1) I am new with wordpress. My permalink setting was setup by default and it was like http://myblog.com/?p=1

I just change it to like http://pushkar123.com/my-post-title so is it helps in good SEO.

You need to contact the web hosting company for this now. They can fix the permissions issue to whatever is most secure.

Not able to change permission to 777 either, it again gives the same response -

You should not change the permissions of /wp-content/cache/.htaccess from 777 as its required to be the same. There wont be any issues with these permissions.

When I try to change the permission for /wp-content/cache/.htaccess file to 666, it gives this response - Response: 550 Could not change perms on .htaccess: Operation not permitted

But file permission for .htaccess at root directory has been successfully changed to 666.

Please help.

Just right click on that file in the ftp software, and you will find the permission. Next in wp-cache update the section of mod-rewrite ie htaccess and if it goes perfect, then that would mean that the permission is working.

You can select the following to YES :

Don’t cache pages for logged in users.

Clear all cache files when a post or page is published. (This may significantly slow down saving of posts.)

Cache rebuild. Serve a supercache file to anonymous users while a new file is being generated. Recommended for very busy websites with lots of comments. Makes "directly cached pages" and "Lockdown mode" obsolete.

Yes try with 666 permission first, if not 777. I dont find any issues with this.

But keeping file permissions to 777 is not safe. Still should we keep it to 777 for .htaccess file?

You need to give a 777 permission to the .htaccess file which is available in the public_html folder of your web host. That would fix it.

I am new with wordpress. I tried to install cache into it but in last i got a message

You must have BEGIN and END markers in /home/pushkar/public_html/.htaccess for the auto update to work. They look like this and surround the main WordPress mod_rewrite rules:

# BEGIN WordPress
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule . /index.php [L]
# END WordPress

Refresh this page when you have updated your .htaccess file.

No you dont have to change the permissions back to 644, because it may need to update the file again.

Next you can enable the 4th point option but then again the latest comments won't be displayed, unless you delete the cache files. For this whenever i make a new blog post i manually select the 'Delete Cache' option to make sure the post is displayed instantly to the frontpage and feed readers.

Its recommended that you enable the super cache compression option and also enable the mobile device support, so that light html pages are displayed the visitors who access your website using smart phones, making them load quicker and these are cached pages.

(1) After updating the mod rewrite rules in .htaccess file, shall we revert the file permission back to 644 or it should remain at 777?

(2) In your tutorial for WP super cache, under the heading "Activate Plugin", at point no.(4) you have sort of advised that it should be left disabled, but in the last comment you have suggested to enable it. What would be better? If we enable it, will the latest comments be visible?

(3) Is it advisable to enable super cache compression?

(4) When we update there is a message that - enable mobile device support or else remove two lines in mobile rewrite rules in your .htaccess file. What do you advice, shall we enable the mobile device support or remove those two lines from .htaccess file? Can you tell us the exact and complete two lines which are to be deleted.

As mentioned earlier, there is not much you need to worry about this because there have been a update in the latest version of wordpress where in it wont ping the Search Engines when you edit a blog post. Still you can remove all the pinging URL's from your wp-admin and just rely on the Feedburner option of pinging which is done once you publish a post.
