I am using the simple tagging plugin which suggests tags from local tags list yahoo and tags from net.It was working fine.When i upgraded to wp 2.8, while writing the posts i can get all the tags but when i publish the post i don see tags and it comes no tags and tags arent goin to the db too..What to do?

I would recommend you to Clean Up your database that could be conflicting the plugin and would be disabling it. Check out this plugin - Clean Options http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/clean-options/
Iam using the Auto Tags Plugin http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/auto-tag/ at Laptops Next which i feel is far more better since its auto generated.
i feel tags are not goin to db yaar.. i deactivated the plugin that time tags were nt visible in wp-admin bt i still have error...tags are nt storing in db but will tags be ther in db if i remove the plugin i ll try what u suggested..
The Clean Options plugin will clean up most things and make sure it works, give a try and let me know with the progress!
i installed clean options i clicked on tools ther clicked find orphaned pairs 25 default otpions got a list of things in the page.. what shud i do now
Here is a tutorial i wrote on Clean Options Wp Plugin , you can select the 175 pairs option and proceed.
had got 713 rows cleaned the ones which i had a conflict i.e deleted ones dealing with simple tags plugin as i had deactivated the plugin.Now installing the tags which u suggested let me see if they are goin into db ..what to do next.?
Yeah, i hope it should be working now, if the problem still persists then you should try out check if the plugin is of older version , if your blog is updated and if everything is updated then may be you should try out some other related plugin like the one i suggested in the 2nd reply.
writing a long post let me check i have uninstalled the simpel tags plugin installed the one u told me let me see if the tags do come or not.i have put this issue in code.google.com but many of them have the same issue and the dev site shows me its not working after 2.8+.So need to wait for the fix frm the dev i feel.will get back
