Ahmedabad Airport

In the State of Gujrat Ahmedabad Airport is named in the name of former Deputy prime Minister and also statesman Sarder Vallabhbhai. It is the seventh busiest International Airport of India with an area of 4.55 square kilometers or 1,124 acres. It has a runway of 3,600 meters or 11,811ft. Two metropolitan city area named Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar get the services of this airport. As 150 aircrafts in an average land and fly from this airport in the same way seven International and various domestic carriers also get the chance to serve here.

To bring an innovative look in the airport with 10 old parking bays another 30 are under construction. Requiring a 5-minute drive between the international, domestic and cargo terminals the airport authority gives them the same airside facilities but the physically separated on the landside.

Domestic terminal:

For several Indian airlines including: Air India, Kingfisher Airlines, GoAir, Air Deccan, SpiceJet, Jet Airways, JetLite Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport is the secondary center. It can be said that for its new and changed look has brought various kinds of facilities for the passenger. On the first floor the domestic departure has a 5-star restaurant, a book shop, a handcraft store, a retail clothing store whereas in the ground floor there is a VIP Lounge and a few snack counters. With 20 check-in counters, four aerobridges and three boarding gates the domestic terminal has opened a double passenger handling capacity. The innovative look of the domestic terminal has polished greatness as the new arrival terminal has three luggage belts, a snack counter, Centrum foreign exchange counter, a pre-paid taxi desk and VIP Lounge

International terminal:
The airport authority has taken step to bring change in the International terminal also. Though in the present terminal there are 15 check-in counters serving seven airlines. The departure hall has a restaurant, a duty-free shop, a book-cum-gift shop and other basic amenities and the arrival hall consists of one entry gate, two luggage belts, a foreign exchange counter and a snack stall. It is said that the terminal should be constructed in double size.
