Hefei is the provincial capital city of Anhui province in China. The city has an average population of 4 million.

The city’s main industry was agriculture with many job prospects in Agronomy, Animal science, Forestry, Ecology and other environmental sciences. The city has since been developing very well such that many talented people were sent in from other parts of the country. Today Hefei has machinery, electronics, chemistry, steel, textile, and cigarette industries, among others. Jobs in various fields have been created and these are in Engineering, Mechanics, Electronics, IT, Accounting and finance, Marketing, Insurance, Legal Affairs and Human Resources.

However, new industrial development in special economic areas has resulted in new manufacturing jobs for technical school and college graduates. The Chinese government has also created jobs to students looking to gain work experience, recent graduates and other seasoned professional looking to change their jobs. Job offers are in the following areas; Automotive Insurance, Maintenance, Health care, Food services or restaurant, Logistics and warehouse, Aviation, Accounting or Finance, Sales and Marketing, Buyers and Administrators.

In 2005, the municipal government implemented changes designed to beautify the city by demolishing thousands of illegally built structures, and clearing away long established marketplaces in many parts of the city. This had a huge impact on the local economy as it created jobs for people in construction, Architecture, Engineering as well as jobs for real estates as there were now many willing sellers and buyers of old properties that where listed for refurbishing.

These actions removed many unlicensed food stalls which had contributed to the spread of diseases and were also responsible for short changing employees in the past. Therefore this meant all business complexes that where now established after the beautifying program were now registered and legal and employees are now recognized by the government. As for the city people the change meant residents in the city now had a better environment.

This in 2008 the thoroughfare Chang Jiang Lu (Chang Jiang Road) is going to have some renovations which are meant to widen the roads and to create bus routes with bus stations at islands that are connected to the sidewalks by skyways. This has also resulted in the creation of jobs for people in the construction departments.
