How to post Pictures from iPhone to Twitter

July 22, 2010 by Amit Bhawani

Everyday millions of users login to their Twitter account and share their views, comments, daily updates with their friends and followers. Along with this many of these users have a habit of sharing their personal photos or favorite pictures with others using different web services like Twitpic. Now the main question here is that if someone is using the iPhone device and wants to post their pictures to their Twitter, how is this possible?

Majority of the Twitter users have a habit of using the Twitpic.com website service which is quite simple and useful because it serves the job. You can login with your Twitter logins securely and upload your photos which would be always stored on the Twitpic service along with Geo Information and tagging features. TwitPic does not have any dedicated application available for iPhone which is the reason you need to set the feature which they allow ie sending the Photos as a email to your twitpic email account.

Twitpic Unique Email AddressLogin to your Twitpic account and under the settings page you will find the following information. Copy the email address listed on the same page which is unique email address available for your account and is a private email account which shouldn’t be shared with others.

We want to make it as easy as we can for you to get your photos on twitter! Use your own unique address to email your photos directly into your TwitPic account from your mobile phone. Now you can capture your moments and share them with your friends as they happen.

Next you will have to create a new iPhone contact with some name and the email address linked to it. Once this is done you can easily email to this account through the iPhone contacts itself. The text you specify on the Subject line would be added as text which is displayed on the photo page.

Another option would be using the Twitter App for iPhone and under this tap on the Compose Tweet button. Next tap on the Photo Library option which will display the Camera Roll , under which you need to select the Image you would like to share with others. Once the image is selected, its automatically compressed and shown as a attachment in your account.

The attachment would take a few characters from the tweet and by default would upload the photo to Yfrog service.
