Google has announced a new service for their Gmail Users under the name ‘Priority Inbox’ which is a new way to access your emails and give more importance to a few selected ones. The service would automatically based on your previous preferences and replies would assign your emails under the new Priority Inbox section with the most important emails displayed on the top.

In order to enable this service you will have to access your Gmail account and then on the top right side you will find a new option ‘New! Priority Inbox Beta’ which once clicked would display you a small option box with a video along with options like ‘Try it now! & No Thanks’.

Click on ‘Try it now’ and you will be shown with a box giving you a brief idea on the feature. Here itself you can click on the options given to make emails Important and Not Important. Next click on the ‘That looks right. Go to Priority Inbox!’.

You will be shown with a message of ‘Activating Priority Inbox’ followed by ‘You’re all set to use Priority Inbox!’. In order to make changes to the options you can visit this URL – https://mail.google.com/mail/u/1/#settings/priorityinbox and then set the options. If you have already set the filters in the mail, and if you like the Priority Email features then you can select the option – ‘Override filters – Include important messages in the inbox that may have been filtered out.’

Click on the + or – Signs in the email which would make the specific emails more Important and Not Important based on which the future emails from the same sender would be sorted and displayed in your Gmail Inbox.
