CNN Hologram Camera Technology

November 7, 2008 by Amit Bhawani

CNN Hot ReporterCNN Hologram was recently a big news all over during the election days when the reporters were beamded into the studio’s. The real reporters were in different locations say cities but were cast into the studio’s using hologram technology.

There were around 35 top end camera’s all around the person which were recording every move of the target and would send this data to the main studio, where the main correspondent would discuss with this reporter as if he is discussing with a real reporter.

There are quite many advantages of this technology because using this technology future meetings, seminars, discussions etc can be cast anywhere all over the world, with the event located in a different location, the disadvantages would mean that at times the person who is beamed into the studio cannot see the real correspondent because they are with high end camera’s and voice recorders and nothing else which means that, it would rather be like a phone conversation in their view.

Overall its a excellent 3D footage of any person, something like magic because the real person is not available near by and still this is made possible with 35-40 camera’s and 20 computers. The correspondants are shown a 37″ Plasma screen which acts like a mirror to ensure them about their own looks which are shown on the real set. Isnt it something which looks like the characters from movies like Star Wars live.

Lets see how this technology is used in the future.
