After BSNL, MTNL, TATA Docomo, Reliance Mobile and airtel it’s now time that the most awaited Vodafone to launch its 3G Services. After yesterday’s teaser ads during the India – England World Cup match, Vodafone mistakenly leaked out the 3G tariff plans on its website, thanks to our team which caught it as soon as Vodafone leaked out its 3G tariff. So, let’s get you with the sneak peak of what Vodafone will be offering to us ranging from the 3G tariff for Postpaid and Prepaid customers along with other unique 3G services which we will be looking out in the due course of this article. For all those who wish to know what exactly 3G would bring in can refer 3G Guide which will clear all your doubts.
Vodafone has 3G spectrum in 9 circles – Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu (including Chennai), Haryana, Uttar Pradesh (E) and West Bengal.
Vodafone 3G Prepaid Offers:

Starting from Rs. 100 to a maximum of Rs. 6250 you can enjoy 3G services according to your need and requirement as with a monthly rental of Rs. 100 you can enjoy a free usage of 100 MB, wherein with Rs. 375 and Rs. 850, you will get a free data usage allowance of 500 MB and 3 GB respectively. Also additionally there are two combo offers too wherein by just shelling Rs. 500/Rs.1000, you will get 500/1000 MB of free 3G data usage, 500/1000 Local or STD Minutes and also 500/1000 SMS. Please note that all the above mentioned packs come with 30 days of validity. Part from the Mobile Internet offers there are also other offers which are dubbed as Mobile broadband offers, these plans start from Rs. 650 to Rs. 6250 which offers the free usage from the range of 1 GB to 30 GB over a period of 30 days to 180 days as shown in the above screen shot.
Vodafone 3G Postpaid Offers:

Just like in Prepaid, Vodafone Postpaid customers too can taste the 3G data plans, the Mobile Internet plans are just same as the one’s which are mentioned above for the Prepaid customers but there is one change in the 3G Mobile Broadband plans as for the Prepaid customers in the Rs. 1250/3250/4250/6250 the customer has the freedom to choose the usage within 30/180/180/180 days respectively the postpaid customers get usage monthly like with Rs. 3250/4250/6250 you get to use the maximum of 1GB/3GB/5GB/ month respectively. For activation requests, you can refer the activation chart which is mentioned in the above screen shot.
Apart from 3G Prepaid and Postpaid offers, Vodafone also presented one innovative device and first which is called as “Mi-Fi”. With this hot spot device which is called as Mi-Fi, one can provide a secured as well as a shared mobile internet connection with up to 5 WLAN enabled devices so that you can share the internet with other users easily. This device can do so for 4 hours after a full charge and can be easily charges with the help of in box AC adapter or the PC USB cable. This device can provide a maximum speed of 7.2 Mbps as this one is an HSDPA device.

This Vodafone Mobile Broadband Hotspot can also be used as a single-user USB modem by attaching the device to your computer using the supplied USB cable and using the Vodafone Mobile Broadband software. Connect the cable to a USB 2.0 port on your computer and software will automatically install from the device.

Apart from the “Mi-Fi” there are also 3G USB sticks which are dubbed as K350 and K3765 which can provide maximum 3G speeds of 3.6 MBPS and 7.2MBPS respectively as shown in the above screen shot.
The other exciting 3G Services are Video Blogging, Video Calling, Mobile newspaper, high Speed Internet, HD Gaming, Live Streaming to name few.

There is still no clarity on the exact date of launch and also in which all circles the above listed tariff will be effective but once the details are announced officially, we will update here with the same. But in the mean while you can either call 116 from your Vodafone number or the 111 from your Vodafone connection to speak with the Vodafone’s Customer care executive for more details on 3G. Alternatively, you can also make use of “3G Experience Zones” at a Vodafone Store near you. Also, with the arrival of MNP (Mobile Number Portability) you can now take the benefit of it and can Switch to Vodafone under MNP by retaining the same number to experience all the services which are mentioned above.
To activate:
Last but not the least, to activate 3G on your Vodafone Connection, sms “GO 3G” to 111 and also Vodafone customers also need to send the sms as “ACT 3G” to 144 for activating the 3G Service after which you will get the details on the 3G Service activation and settings.

hi, there is still no ETA of 3G commercially but you can activate the 3G and later on you will be intimated about the subscriptions n all!!

I bought a new 3g enabled postpaid data connection yesterday with a tariff plan for 198 for 3GB usage per month. The tariffs posted by you are quite different.

To activate 3G as you stated above I have sent a SMS to 111, “GO 3G” and 144,”ACT 3G” which was not accepted by them. What is the reason for it. Please confirm. I bought a IPhone 3GS yesterday, and would like to get net connection as well as 3G service. I am in Tamilnadu. Please clarify.
