Samsung G800 Mobile Phone Review

November 25, 2008 by Amit Bhawani

Samsung G800The Samsung G800 is a technological and design marvel and is set to rival phones such as the Nokia N95 and Sony Ericsson K850i, which both have 5 megapixel cameras. The G800 superseeds these two phones due to the fact that it has a 3x optical zoom. Optical zoom is a feature that has been much associated with dedicated digital cameras and rarely with camera phones, because of size constraints. The zoom feature is very effective as it enables the camera lens to zoom into a scene retaining its full 5 megapixel resolution. The G800 is also the first Samsung phone to have a real xenon flash as opposed to the weaker LCD flashes more common in camera phones. The phone comes with some new features like face detection, and Wide Dynamic Range (WDR). Face detection detects the presence of a face when you are taking a shot of someone and it adjusts the exposure and focus to optimize the appearance of the face.

The G800 also has a new camera Graphical User Interface which provides the same environment as a digital camera. The camera is quite easy to use and has an on Screen Display that shows various camera indicators in a horizontal preview mode. The phone comes with a large 2.4 inch LCD display which makes it ideal to view images on this phone. There are some extra features such as a built-in picture editor, and direct printing with supported printers. The phone also does some superb video recording which comes along with a built-in video editor is provided too.

The phone has so many functions to offer which are effective both in business and leisure, some of the features are as follows:
