Do you believe in Networking/Grouping in Blogging?

February 13, 2008 by Amit Bhawani

Blogs NetworkingYou are a blogger/webmaster working dedicately on some projects and trying to make the maximum with the minimum costs/investments. Now lets think if you are working in a group dont you think you guys can increase your overall results, brand and stay secured?

Lets discuss this example by taking this blog as a direct example : I make a blog post daily and this keeps most of u guys updated on some topic and you sometimes would get bored with the latest post and sometimes get happy with a interesting post which you may bookmark but if i group up with 4 more bloggers who would join me as a network of bloggers and blog, then the results would just become 10x and not 5x times. Confused How?? Well currently if i make a blog post , there would be some visitors who would read it and normally i would write on a topic which i would love to write on but who knows if thats what my visitor likes to read or not? This is a Win-Win situation and we just need to give a try and hope the visitor likes the daily posts.

Bloggers GroupOn the other hand if there are 5 bloggers writing on a single blog then there are many more chances that there would be 5 posts every day on different topics and may be there would be a minimum of 2 posts which every visitor would love to read , share and comment. This way the visitor sticks to that certain blog and tries to even share the information within his network. Another advantage is that if any of the blogger goes on a holiday , still the blog does not go dead because the other bloggers would keep it live & active.

Promotional Benefits : If i alone would tell others about my blog it would attract x number of visitors, but if a group of guys try to promote a single website it creates a fire and there would be a lot more number of visitors who would check out the blog. A blog which gets high exposure gains a lot of branding rather than a slow moving one.

Bloggers Team UpNormally when a post is made and if there are no comments the other visitors would guess this topic to be another dead topic, or a boring blog, but in case of a group blogging blog the other members would comment in every post and make the post interesting with some comment discussions with pro/cons on the topic. These are some of the basic advantages which can help you out in creating a successful blog with great long term benefits.

Rightly said networking is the life blood of a blogger without
a blogger is dead.Networking ensures your posts and a blog is promoted virally. The larger network you have greater are the chances of your blog being promoted virally.

But networking should not be restricted to fellow bloggers only but it should be extended to your readers also. The best way to do this is, use a ‘tell a friend’ script on the post-footer and encourage your visitors to tell about your blog and posts. You also have to make sure you answer the readers’s comment and emails ,so that, they feel they are valued.

Isn’t forum a better way of networking ? The blogs are supposed to be more personal, where you share what YOU feel. In case of group blogging, its hard that all the contributors have the same ideology.

I feel its better that all the friends/network members have there own blog, and be social in commenting and helping.
