The price plans seem to be cut down to half of its competitors in order to gain more clients. The speed claimed by the company is double of the reliance netconnect speed which ranges in around 15-25kbps. This product may not be a part of the best usb cards but still can be a option if you have no network connectivity in your area other than idea and are looking to connect to the internet.

      i wan to tell you that BSNL provide 230/-(permonth), unlimited surfing and downloading in 2G sim and 250/-(permonth), 300mb usage data, after use 300 mb you can recharge with 120/- and you get 100 mb extra for use(no validity).

        BSNL GPRS on Cellphone costs 199 UNLIMITED (personally using)
        BSNL USB surf costs 250 per month UNLIMITED

        I am in maharastra, plans may differ for other states.

  2. Sorry… This is also not useful.

    I visited Idea Show room in Vizag. I asked demo for Idea Netsetter.
    They plugged the USB card and connected their pc. When I test the Internet speed it shows only 2 Kbps. I tried again after 10 mins, again its 2 kbps. So Idea also tells we have to dream the “Wireless Internet” not as planned Idea…! 🙂

    And there is no free roaming. In Tamil nadu you have to pay roaming charges Rs. 1.50 as STD call rate. but in ads you can see free roaming.

    Please make the good decision before purchase this device.

    Note:

    I’m looking for Wireless DATA card with at least 30 KBps download speed and all India roaming. I need unlimited plan only. If any one knows plz comment here…

    • HI I AM RAJAT . I AM GIVING YOU ADVICE THAT BUY MTS MBLAZE . THEY GIVE SPEED OF AROUND 350-400 KBPS AND IF YOU CHOOSE ANY UNLLIMITED PLAN SUCH AS 647RS THE PLAN IS THAT TILL 1 GB YOU GET THE SPEED OF 350-400 KBPS AND IF 1 GB IS OVER THEY WILL GIVE YOU SPEED OF AROUND 20-30 KBPS.

    speed is too slow and can’t able to use. here every one changing the
    network because of the low speed. whether i want to wait or change the
    connection? u r going to loose lot of customers including me if u will
    not increase the speed.

      • Idea data card just does not give any speed at all, atleast in Delhi where I stay. I have spent 2000Rs on it, so have little other option. Seriously, its a complete mental harrasment. I really wonder whether idea people are serious when they call it “high speed internet”, when most of the times my friend’s GPRS net on his reliance GSM phone works way faster. All of u who wish to buy it, drop ur plan at earliest. I bet u’ll regret if u ignored this advice…

  7. idea has avery low speed of 236 kbps which is not guarunteed … and may vary according to signal …so don t go for if until u need to be fooled

  9. The idea net setter is seriously not worth even a single buck!! my per month usage used to come around 12-13GB with BSNL n now with idea i cant even surf properly..!

  10. my dear idea netsetter customer, pl dont use this idea netsetter, because it is very useless components. when they sold it, they said it will give u more speed in surfing & downloading bur its very slowwww… so do’nt use this item.

  13. guys idea give this services through the same gsm network so due to call conjestion n network load n some times low signal strength gives rise to very low speeds .. this type of connections are not reliable
    they can be fast in night times when traffic load is less n vice versa
    go for the Reliance or Bsnl or tata but only the 3G speeds which come from 2Mbps in bsnl -3.1 Mbps in reliance
    these will atleast prove to be of worth when u spend money

  26. i got a descent browsing speed with idea,it is very useful for browsing.I am not a netsetter user.I use gprs.It costs 601 for unkimitted one month.8 mins is required to download a 5mb song with this service.

  28. friends, idea is charging huge amount for internet. aircel only Rs.97 for one month unlimited but idea is charging Rs.600. i suggest you to unlock the device and use any other gsm sim.

    • IDEA is verrrrrrrrrrrrrryyyyyyyyyyyyyy bad service..
      i could connect,,but got speed upto 12kbps..
      i was very frustated,,.i went on changing plans but of no use.
      the dealers r so cunning,when i asked to change the plan,,he gave me a new sim without cancelling the old.i got bills of both the sims.within two months i lost 5000rs for all this..not only that,,i had to postpone my exam becoz of lagging behind in my online preparation..
      it ruined my health.
      I HATE IDEA

      • ohh forgot to tell the main point,,the maximum is 12kbps and most of the time it was 0.00..
        imagine how frustating..

        • If i had seen your suggestion earlier, I would have saved Rs.2000. Now I am completely drown. Idea company doesn’t have the idea of increasing the net speed. Their towers are toys I think. we can get the speed only we sit under the tower.

      caller tune samaj nahi aayi to men se hi koi si bhi laga deta hai aur paise bhi kaat lega

    i m using idea netsetter 4 last 2 monts.
    i think its not too good coz they show there speed 236.8 and they give only 100 kbps.
    As compared then its not cheap

    • You can do it man, I am using Videocon card in Idea net setter. It is cheaper too, it gives you unlimited surfing in just 96Rs.

      • Can you please give me the internet settings for using videocon in netsetter? Give me the Profile Name, APN, Authentication Access Number etc. etc.. I am able to use my docomi in netsetter, but videocon is getting disconnected as soon as it gets connected. Pls help.

    Guys try docomo for surfing it is better than any ISP(currently).Well I agree that IDEA’s is the worst ever service but i’m still idea customer coz it has the best voice plan as of now but for internet it sucks i hate it. I was planning to buy netsetter but seeing the -ve reviews in all the blogs I backed off still not able to decide which ISP to opt. Mr Aditya Birla r u using tata docomo connection?? check ur net once.

I am using free Idea Internet from past 10 months, However Rs.20 per day unlimited plan activated on my no.but they only deduct 10 paise per connect, means as many times I dial from my pc, they will deduct 10 paisa, and while it is connect they dont detect any balance. Downloading speed is 30-35 kbps.

    Here is how it is for free:-
    I activated Rs.20 per day unlimited plan and it is activated, and I start use.But I complaint many times to customer care that my balance is cutting and Internet is not activate. They transfer my complaint to their many department. But all of them says that ur service is activated, but I said that It is not activated and balance is cutting.
    Then they transferred my call to 5-6 department but unki wohi baat. I said to stop this plan, they stopped my Rs.20 plan.After 15-20 days I connect it and download a song and disconnect it immediately. I was surprise that only 10 paisa was detect from my account. Till from that day it is still going on.
    And I am using free unlimited internet.

    What an IDEA Sir Ji.

  55. I first bought bsnl. It was horrible. It was giving me only 25-30 kbps. And on roaming it was even worse.
    Many places in the North did not have network at all.

    I then bought this TATA Docomo 3g e-stick. I bought a 7.2 mbps one. they also have 21 mbps which i could not afford. Trust me guys, this is awesome. I downloaded a movie of 700 mb in just 25 mins. It rocks. I have not tried it on roaming yet.
    But for now, its too good. For people using it for browsing, blindly go for it. Its worth the money.

    • Go to retailer from where u have perchased this idea net setter and ask his to unlock the cdma lock, he will charge only Rs.40 and U can use any GSM sim with idea net setter…Speed will depemd upon network.

    • In my region I get around 20 to 40Kbps download speed…But not with net setter, I’m using nokia 5233 mobile..

Got an Idea netsetter yesterday. paid 1550 for device. then recharged it with 30 rs. and then with 106 for a speed of 256kbps. the dealer told me its 3g recharge. pluged it and saw it shows connected with 3.6mbps and speed is reallly good. down speed was really more than 250. this was my second device. first device cost me 1550 too but it was from franchise store. they didnt told me that there is recharge as above mentioned. they recharged it with 600 rs. for 2 month unlimited for 2g service with half the speed of which i got in my second device. extremely slow. so my friend never belive this franchise people.

I’m customer of IDEA net server,on 25 jun 11 i’m in romming & validity was over i’ll recharge it on 29 jun11 but till date it was not activated after in consultation with customer care They replies me that the net server is not used w.e.f..from 24 june & it was closed for ID PROOF & documentation which was already submitted in IDEA OFFICE In TWO TIMES, can anybody tell me why this situation creates & what is solution for it.

  84. Hi I am using TATA PHOTON+ in my laptop its best becouse yesterday i was gone to mumbai and as i am living in Belgaum,Karnataka in belgaum the speed is 1.2 MBPS & in mumbai this gives same speed it is too fast.It have superior Building Coverage as i suggest take TATA PHOTON+.
