Iam not a big Dell Laptops fan because they get heated up really quick and this is the very big reason i hate these, but again they are considered as one of the best laptops which is the only reason i make sure that we can find the best gaming laptops or students laptops from Dell.
Now lets start with the Inspiron 1525 features and pro’s/con’s of buying it. First of all it features a 15.4-inch WXGA (1280 x 800) CCFL TrueLife (glossy) screen which would make it a easy for travelling because the total laptop totally sums upto 2.6kg which is bit lower than Sony CR series. The processor is quite good which is a Core 2 Duo T7250 processor and a 2GB DDR Ram which can expended to 4Gb DDR2 SDRam if needed based on your requirements. Also comes with a 120Gb 5400 RPM SATA Hard Disk Drive and a Dual-Layer DVD±RW drive and also integrated graphics video card.
The Dell Inspiron 1525 laptop series is available in multiple colours and variations and also has a inbuilt 8-in-1 flash memory reader which comes handy. The only problem which i feel is that there is no webcam which is nowadays a very much important feature in any laptops because most people are looking for laptops with camera’s and without this feature Dell should not expect much sales from first time laptop buyers because now most sony laptops models come with a inbuilt webcams.
The Inspiron 1525 features blue LED backlights above the keyboard which are similar on most XPS laptops. Though the better feature is that these lights dont always stay On but they get OFF after pressed for any usage. A Ethernet port and two USB ports available on the left side section and Express Card Slot, Wifi On/Off switch, Optical drive and another two USB ports on the right side which would be useful for the users because 4 USB are always recommended for any laptops as the USB gadgets are increasing day by day [USB Mouse + USB Internet Card + USB Pen Drive + USB External hard Disk Drive]. Unlike other Dell laptops the inspiron 1525 features a excellent heat soaking feature because of which it does not get heated very high though the same effects are shown on the noice coming out from the laptop when the heat is thrown out from the system fan.
The most important feature is that the Inspiron 1525 comes with a optional Blu-ray Disk which makes it one of the first laptop costing below 1000$ and offering a Blu-ray player disc drive. Currently the Blu-ray option is available in US & Canada and will soon be available all over the world.

In the review it is mentioned that it doesn’t has a web camera & the hard drive mentioned is 120 gb..but on the net it is given that it has a web cameera & 250 gb hard drive…Overall i am a very moderate user of computer but am looking for a good laptop in this range, so should i go for this one or is any other better option available.
@ Hitesh Mehra : We did a review from 2 laptop websites and from that we found the above features. At times the features also change based on the specifications provided by the sellers. I just checked with the official website and found that there is a 2.0 Mp inbuilt Web Cam in the laptop with 250Gb HDD, also the Indian Price of this laptop is 34900Rs. Just check out this Dell India website and you will find that they already offer Dell Inspiron 1525 in 2 different packages which cost 34900Rs & 39900Rs with 160Gb HDD & 250GB HDD. There is also a processors difference ie Intel® CoreTM 2 Duo Processor T5550 & Intel® CoreTM 2 Duo Processor T5750. It clearly says that the features basically depend on the seller especially in case of Dell Laptops. You can also check out the Best Laptops review for selecting the best laptop brand. I Just bought DELL INSPIRON 1525 during my recent visit to the US. Even though its great to look at, is very sleek but it lacks in many areas. It gets heated very fast, just after 1 hour of usage, the under belly starts burning. The laptop doesnt have BLUETOOTH (yes its true) but it does have an LED indication for Bluetooth….so one would have to buy a bluetooth dongle. The speakers are not very powerful and dont give any pleasure to the ears if u r a music lover.
My DELL Doesnt have a graphics card, which means when I play some games which require high graphics…..it stalls. I play EA Sports CRICKET but it becomes soooo Slow that the game is to be aborted.
The plus points are that for US $700 I got 250 GB HDD, 3 GB of RAM, Vista Home Premium, 2 MP webcam, Great Battery Life (if you are surfing and not running the CD – it easily runs for 4-5 hours)and GREAT LOOKS….BUT NO BLUE RAY…
I would rate this laptop 3 out of 5, worth the money I spent.

hi amit,i am dr.pavankumar asking for suggestion to buy a laptop. i have got a basic idea about some features in laptop after i searched about them in market nd in net.by profession i may not require all higher versions because i may be using it for powerpoint presentations,brousing net,downloding articles and books from net,watching movies,hearing music etc. pls suggest best and safe laptop which suits for me in the range around 30-35,000.
