HP DreamScreen Tablet Review & Features

September 22, 2009 by Amit Bhawani

Looking for gift ideas for this Christmas? Then dont worry you wont be disappointing your friends because you can gift them HP DreamScreen Tablet which is quite economical when compared to the features and the looks. This is a Tablet-Styled Computer with limited functionality inclined more towards the Entertainment rather than Business. The DreamScreen can be used as a Digital Photo Frame if not as a Television screen if you are quite bored with it.

Apple Tablet is still not around and HP has moved a step further by launching it with a 13.3″ screen size and a 2Gb of Built-In Memory. These kind of tablets which cost 249$ are seriously going to kill the Amazon Kindle & Digital Photo Frame markets because those also cost somewhere around in these price range and offer just a display rather than input and output. The Storage can be used for storing movies, music, digital photos etc and you have a option of inserting a USB & Flash Memory Card for transferring content.

Along with this HP has also introduced a smart service called HP SmartRadio where in the DreamScreen users can avail streams of live internet broadcasts from more than 10,0000 radio stations and enjoy free music. The Home screen of this Tablet PC features with Widgets which can directly connect you to Social Networking sites like Facebook and also connect to HP’s Photo-Sharing Site Snapfish. Instead of using a normal PC to get daily weather forecast or calender, the DreamScreen is a better way to get access to this kind of content. Soon DreamScreen will feature Television with access of content via DVR or Set-Top Box.

HP SmartRadio is one of the good features we see in it. Thanks for the review.
