Suddenly my tata indicom WIMAX service changed the plan to 384kbps (it was 256kbps) without notifying us… We have paid 4k in advance for a 5 month subscribtion of internet…

Do u think should we ask them why the internet speed increased or should we wait for them to approach us ? I am confused but happy to get this superb speed 🙂

I am facing a problem with my download speed… i have taken the 384 kbps connection.. and when i have tested the speed of my connection it is just showing around 327 kbps. [PS. I had switched off any other means of download eg. utorrent etc.] Is this a problem of my isp or is it any internal problem? Should i complain or should i run any test as to which i can obtain any better speed results? Plz help.

th3w1ck3rm4n its bcoz u must be using windows as os and MS locks 20% of the bandwidth for its own use 😉 free it up by running gpedit.msc and looking for administrative templates then qos packet schdlr and enable reservable bandwidth as 0% and there u go 🙂

Hi RH. Thanks for the idea! How do we do that for Vista 32? I couldn’t find ‘gpedit.msc’ through search.
      Thanks in advance!

If we pay the entire amount for 6 month rental, then we don’t have to pay any monthly charges according to usage right?

I’m using Plan 384 unlimited. It runs @ 1300 kbps three days a week and @ 320 kbps rest of the week. I keep my system online all month. The Tata customer service has called me several times telling me that my usage is ‘high’ at 250 GB/month.
I don’t understand this. I subscribed for unlimited package @ Rs. 1320 per month and after taking 6-month advance payment, these guys come asking me to upgrade. Should I? Am i breaking any rule by eating 250 KG a month!? After all I paid for buffet!

lol at least u getting the speed above 100 kbps for downloading. if u look at other unlimited data transfer plans of airtel bsnl or whatever(which approx lie in the range 700-900 INR i.e. 100-200 INR less than this plan) they just give the download speed of like 40 kbps at the max(both peer-to-peer/torrent and direct downloading). so i think comparing the price range and keeping in mind that u r getting unlimited data, this is just what u want ^_^ i seriously dont want to spend 1500 to get more speed O_O and btw they do promise the speed of 384 kbps and actual speed is around 250kbps(i guess), so what? every company does. most of them give 70%(and many suck too -.-) efficiency though. so think over itt =)
