How working at home benefit the toddlers?

June 28, 2008 by Amit Bhawani

Do you remember the days when you were a kid? How it used to feel when mom and dad both used to go out for work leaving you alone with the babysitter? You will hardly find a kid who likes being alone at home. They seek their parent’s company whenever there is a trivial problem or they need to share their small happiness. So if one of the parents or both are at home always to take care of them, it is simply great. But then again you need a handsome amount of money everyday to run a family. The best option for you would be the work from home jobs. There are quite a number of options available which can fetch you a lot of money as well as save ample time and energy to spend with the kids.

Playing with the kids
What is the activity that your kid prefers the most? The general answer would be playing. As a matter of fact playing with the toddlers is the best way to get closer to their heart and knowing them well. If you are a work at home mom or dad, then use your leisure time playing with the kids or teaching them new interesting games. There are quite a number of games available which can help in the kid’s intellectual development. Your effort and support can get the best results for them. Now-a-days video games are pretty much popular among the kids. They often get addicted to these sorts of games while playing them alone in the house. Now that you are there around the kids you can limit their addiction and inspire them to play with the doggie.

Involving them in your work
The kids are often not aware of the fact that their parents have some other responsibilities towards their work that they do from home to earn the living apart from looking after them. So often they become very demanding and start crying or nagging in order to draw the attention of their work at home parents. The ideal way to combat this problem is to get them involved in your work. This is for sure that they are not capable of doing the tougher parts of the jobs but they can handle small tasks quite easily. You can ask them to do some trivial jobs like filing the papers or organizing the work desk. This will not only keep them busy while you work but also turn them into responsible and serious kids.

Working while they take a nap
Another great idea that will benefit both you and your kid would be working while they take a nap. When the kids are inside the bed resting or sleeping tight, it is the best time for you to finish up the largest part of the work. If your job responsibilities involve making phone calls or uninterrupted concentration, then do that when the kids are busy spending time with themselves. This will help you spend more time with them when they are awake. The kids will also feel that you are paying them as much attention as they need and keep them happy and content.

Playing with the kids is so rewarding. They enjoy their it so much more if mom and dad or granny and grandad participate in their activities.

You are so right to schedule one’s work around their nap times. One is more productive and manages to get far more accomplished with interuptions.
