My laptop is Hp 520 model, celeron processor, 512 RAM, 80GB hard disk. Is it possible for me to operate an external TV tuner card in my laptop? Some of my friends told me that laptop will get damage within two or three months, if we use tv tuner card. Is it true? Which brand is providing good video clarity? How much it cost, if we dont want exra options like video recording or other big features? [I mean the card only using for watching cable channels]. Please mail me as early as possible.

i baught a usb video capture card for my laptop (Pinnacle dazzle dvc-101). i wanted to use it to play my ps3 using my laptop screen as a tv. the software that came with it though only alows u to record and windows media center doesnt recanise it as a tv tuner. so i was woundering if you know of any software or drivers out there that will alow me to use it as a tv tuner.

I am using a odyssey external tv tuner card. It used to work fine with my laptop which had windows vista. but recently i upgraded it to windows xp and now my tv tuner card doesn’t work. when i open the application to run it, it starts my webcam and doesn’t capture tv signals.
can you think of any solution to this prob?
