Yesterday, we had reported that the ad serving on this domain has been disabled, and the reason behind this was a post where the images were unacceptable against the terms of adsense. We were mailed to remove that, and we did it but the automated team didn’t recognize the change and so it had disabled the ad serving to just this domain, but the entire account was not disabled. It was a matter of a day for us to get things resolved, as I contacted the Google Adsense team directly, and reinstated the ad serving, but not everyone can do the same. Many experience the adsense account ban without any notice, and they wonder what might be the reason.
What exactly happened to our account yesterday?
As I had updated yesterday, it was not our adsense account which got disabled, but it was just this domain amitbhawani.com which got removed, because according to the Adsense team a few images in a blog post were overlapping and were to be removed. We were given 5 days time to do this, and we removed those images within the given time, but the Automated system of Google could not recognize this (probably some cache issue), and it automatically stopped serving the ads. We then contacted the Adsense team explaining the things, and they started serving the ads again.
Here are the reasons why one’s adsense account can be disabled –
- Publisher clicks on his own ads – Adsense team keeps a record of the IP addresses through which the publishers logged into their adsense account. It would flag the adsense team if there are any clicks recorded on the publisher’s sites through any of the same IP addresses. This is considered as invalid click, and is one of the most common reasons for the disabling of the adsense account.
- Publisher encouraging others to click on the ads – If at all you are noticed asking others to click on your ads, to put a cover on the above reason, this is still a wrong way to get clicks and so you are disabled due to this reason too.
- Automated clicks – There are many tools and software’s to get automated clicks on the ads. Adsense team is smart enough to discover this and you are banned, if found using one.
- Changes in the codes – Some publishers think they are good enough to change the code and the way the ads should look by default, expecting more clicks on the beautified ads. But that doesn’t work in the way you want. Change the code, and Google will change the status of your account.
- Risking the adwords advertisers – This is what Google Adsense team sends to the publisher, when the reason is the risk to adwords advertisers – While going through our records recently, we found that your AdSense account has posed a significant risk to our AdWords advertisers. Since keeping your account in our publisher network may financially damage our advertisers in the future, we’ve decided to disable your account.
- Multiple clicks from a single IP – If your accounts records a multiple number of clicks from a single IP address, that though not being your fault, would lead to disabling of your account.
- Clicks from poor quality websites – If you are a part of Paid to Surf etc. type of programs, to bring in more visitor counts, then clicks from there would be counted as invalid, and a few clicks can lead to disabling of your account.
- No response to changes demanded by adsense team – Many a times, the Adsense team sends the publishers some notice about the changes they need to make in their website so that the policy is maintained and you are not breaking any rules. But if you didn’t respond to it, or failed to make those changes, the account gets disabled.
You can’t rely on Google to check everything and let you know about each and every error you make. For you being a publisher, Google is your customer and so it holds the right to decide the status of your account, to satisfy it’s advertisers. So you just need to take care of things such that it doesn’t alarm the adsense team.
Now once your account is disabled, you can’t expect anything else than just a hope of being reconsidered and the account to be reinstated. Here are a few steps that can help you recover your account, but that is not guaranteed, as not everyone has been banned for same reason.
As the medical side speaks, Treating the Symptoms is the initial way to get cured. You need to find out what was the exact reason for the disabling of the account. For results like multiple clicks and the clicking of ads from the same IP address where you login to adsense, there is the least hope of being reconsidered. For such invalid acts, your pleading or acting innocent doesn’t work. You made a mistake, which is irreversible.
First, read the entire terms and agreement page of Adsense again, to see if you are following everything right. If there is something you went against, and noticed that, then immediately change that before requesting Google to restore the account. This is because, it is not a bot checking your site but a human would review your website to see if you can get your account back and if you are following all the guidelines well.
Seek help from the Adsense forum – The top contributors at the Adsense forum are usually helpful, and if you are good enough and polite to ask them if they can check your website and let you know where you are going wrong. They criticize you most of the times, but that is what would help you in the end.
Ask for reconsideration – Here is where you need to be sure that you have removed all the faults that led to the suspension of the account, and if everything is fine now, go here and ask for the reconsideration of the account. If at all you are innocent and are not responsible for any click fraud, provide the Adsense team the logs of traffic, and prove them that the clicks were not by you.
Most of the publishers try 2-3 times with all the strong reasons in their favor, but if one still doesn’t get their adsense account back, it is not worth trying more than that.
The last step would be opening a new account, but with the following things –
- A new bank account, with the name not being the same with the one you used in your previous adsense account. The best idea here is to make an account with the name of your company, not a personal name.
- Open a Google adsense account with a new email address, having a name of your business and a new address.
- Try to change the IP of your website, by shifting to another host and initially, avoid trying to register using the same website which had led to disabling of your adsense account previously.
If you skip any one step above, the approval would not be easy as the Google bots can easily identify the new registration being from someone who was banned previously, and the application is rejected.

You inspires many people and I am also inspired from you.

Amit, can you tell me your opinion on why adsense ads got banned on the domain sizlopedia. I am very perplexed by that. And as for ads getting banned on your domain, such a thing if it happens in the future will be stupidest thing ever done by the adsense team.
Techie Zone says
Dear Amit, I would like to say that in your case the Adsense account was not banned but ad serving was disabled to this domain contrary to the title of the post. And if an adsense account is banned it is next to impossible to re-instate it. So the steps you have given might b useful if ad serving is disabled on a domain. You may think of changing the post title as it is misguiding.
saju says
happy to see that you got it back. I am bit confused about multiple click from same ip, This means any competetor or a rival can make our adsense account get banned? This is where we have no control over it. I dont agree with this amit, have they said it some where on google?
Madhu says

You not explained the “Risking the adwords advertisers” Point above.
Sadia Komal says
Reinstate of a account is almost not possible, just 5 % chances that google reinstate your adsense account.
Nisha says
Oh my! I was never aware of these kinda ‘rules & regulation’ – I’m afraid of Google!
Asif Khan says
Well, that’s the way to go. But, I agree with @saju. We don’t have control over the multiple clicks from the same ip issue.

Thanks,

Its good to read terms and condition before putting google adsense on your blog. Good stuff for adsense insight. It will help many to avoid any future embarrassment like google banning.
Zenil Shroff says
My account was banned two years ago and they gave me one reason that “my account posed a significant risk to adwords adveritisers”, now what was the fault, where was the fault, i am guessing till date.
Once disabled its gone forever in 95% cases, its good to start with new adsense account with fresh name or spouse name.
Kavya Hari says
Great to see you on back, Amit:) Thanks for the tips 🙂
Seobricks says
I was expecting that your Google Adsense account will be back in a day or two and that happens. Google has no problem with genuine website owners and bloggers who abide by Google Adsense policies. And you are taking the risk of being banned from Google adsense if your ads are not beneficial to Google Adword Advertisers.

using a business Name for applying a new adsense account can be a good idea.
Sahl Ahmed Shaikh says
First thing first congrats on getting the precious adsense back!
Just wanted to let you and others know that,
change of IP and bank account name is not at all necessary
just Address should be changed a little,
eg: change opp to opposite
and that will do the trick!
but you will have to apply with a fresh Email address.
funwidmasti says
Hi Amit,
If banned previously can we but a new domain and get a account on new name keeping the address same the one which was banned..??????

Any idea how to get banned adsense account back 🙁 ?
Zahid says
Ad serving are disbale to my account and I did not get any email
any one give me idea how to deal with this issue ?
ashish says
my issue with click fraud is if any person wants can get banned your adsense account by doing repeated clicks from same ip on your website. In that only you are going to suffer for no reasons of yours.
So why is not google just ignores these clicks instead of banning the account.
I am really not happy with some reasons for disabling a adsense account.
Tivisiana says
thank for share about google adsense banned
Raghav says
Adsense is very risky. But I’ve a question in my mind. If a visitor uses a proxy when clicking on ad and also another visitor also uses that proxy and he click on ad. Will adsense get banned in this case?
ashish says
There is only very less chance that they will recover it back many people r crying for an adsense

For instance, publishers may not format neighboring content to look similar to the ads, or make ads look like games or forum posts. ACTION TAKEN: We have disabled ad serving to your site.
ACCOUNT STATUS: ACTIVE
Your AdSense account remains active. However, please note that our team reserves the right to disable your account at any time. As such, we encourage you to become familiar with our program policies and monitor your network accordingly.

Hi Amit,
Good post. Can you tell us how you contacted Adsense team directly?
My Problem:
One of the pages on my site had to be deleted due to URL issues, but that page remained active in an Ajax frame on the homepage, which meant ads were displayed with no content…the team duly disabled serving to this site, but that issue was corrected within 2 hours. I have mailed them twice, but no response. No help on the forum either. Kindly let me know how to contact the team directly. Thanks.

if we open a new account using some other website and name,
then can we use it to put ads on the site that got the previous account disabled?
Nitheesh says
The person will be too lucky if he got his Adsense account got back after its gone! Because it is very difficult to convince Google team to get the account back. My friend has lost his account for doing nothing wrong. He has tried his level best to make appeals and convince the team but they did not give it back to him. I think now it is more tough and it would be “1 Adsense for a life time!” If we play with it, then we will not get a second chance! 🙂

Hi Amit
Does I require to Change the IP of machine from which I’m Applying for Adsense ?
Don Bistrow says
I reported a problem while switching my sites to a cloud server through my hosting account and set stringent threat protection. It seems robots were attacking my sites and clicking links. A friend told me to use the cloud procedure and it worked. The cloud worked but in the mean time Google said my sites were too risky and killed my account. I wrote letters explaining my process to protect against threats. I contacted Google not the reverse and my goodwill got me banned. They told me not to write to them any further, the case was closed. Nice folks.

Hi,
I just want to know if we can put Third Party (Private / Affiliate) ads along with Google Ads. Is this acceptable with Google Terms of Acceptance.
Thanks & Regards,
Jyothi.

The click fraud it is also a problem for everyone that is running Google AdWords campaigns. This is why XionaGrup.ro managed to fix those issues with an Google AdWords integration – basically all the IP addresses are blocked from the AdWords accounts if a certain number of ad clicks is being reached.
