In order to try out, i selected the options of i Speak English and Iam Leaning Hindi and clicked on the ‘Get Started’ button. The next step asked me to register to this service where in i was asked to add all the Languages i knew and what i wanted to learn. Finally at the end of the registration i was shown with different modules for the language i selected to learn which increased from Beginner Level to Intermediate Level and i had to enrol to one language which again consisted of Courses and Units followed by different options to Learn, Review, Write & Speak.
Wow, finally the sessions started with a small window in the center powered by Flash. Thumbnails on the right and in the center the main image of the person or object you are learning with the word given in English though it meant in hindi. Also there was a voice out of the same word in order to make you understand and feel how to spell it correctly, though you should try out listening to each of them 10 times to perfectly grash the right pitch.

Livemocha is a fantastic community of language learners indeed, and you surely meet a lot of interesting people; however I feel that when you really need someone to devote time to you, in the end you have to pay this person, as in general people will start not finding enough time to teach you and spend with you; we all have limited time in the end don’t we? You can find people who will be willing to teach you or help you with your livemocha exercices on this new platform called http://www.lingworld.com . Teachers/Conversation partners will help you for very very low fees, and you can also meet nice people; but because you pay them (some of them less than 5$ an hour) you know they will give you 100% attention. And most of them have foreign language teaching qualifications. It can be a good complement to livemocha multimedia courses indeed…

Another cool site that is similar to LiveMocha is iTalki http://www.italki.com You can find tons of language learners on that site as well. I’m a member of both. I actually find italki cleaner and easier to use. Even become a teacher and make some money. Kind of like eBay for teaching a language.

This platform not just helps us learn the new language we wanted to, but also does the work of making people meet and interact, thus increasing the communication and stuff.
