I have a Google Adwords account and have several campaigns few of which are for our clients and we are planning to shift one of the ad campaign with all the settings to the parent company. Hence is it possible to automatically transfer the complete ad campaign to another Google Adwords Account. If i perform this manually i will loose all the settings and the optimizations done to the campaign, because of which the costs would also go up, hence would Google do this transfer?
When you create a new Adwords account, its not going to have any ad campaigns, following which you need to create one or else import ads from another account. The best solution for this is to use the Adwords Editor (http://www.google.com/intl/en/adwordseditor/), where in you need to select the Ad Campaign and then click on copy, open the other account on editor and just paste it (remember to change the urls if its different).
AdWords Editor is a free Google application for managing your ad campaigns. Use it to download your account, update your campaigns with powerful editing tools, then upload your changes to AdWords.
- Work offline, then upload your changes any time.
- Make bulk changes (such as updating bids or adding keywords) in just a few steps.
- Copy or move items between ad groups and campaigns.
- Navigate through your account quickly and easily.
- Circulate proposed changes and get feedback from other users.
Once you download and install a copy of this software on your computer, where in you will be asked to select the ‘Language Targeting’, ‘Location Targeting’ and ‘Enable Usage Tracking’. You will next have to Open your Adwords account by adding an account. Once you enter your Adwords logins, you will be asked to select all campaigns or selected campaigns to download. We would recommend you to download all your campaigns so that they can be handled easily.
Next you will find all the campaigns, ad-groups, keywords, Placements, Image Ads, Text Ads, Local Business Ads etc to be downloaded to your computer.
For this job you need to Export all the stuff of a selected campaign and create a backup file which is saved in the form of a AEA file as shown below.
Now this would be available for download to your computer. Save this at any location of your PC, and then move back to the Adwords Editor. Next you need to import all these into your another account by selecting the option from the menu – ‘Import Account Snapshot’ following which you need to select the downloaded AEA file. Since some of settings in the account are mismatched you will get the following error.
You will get a instant report for the same, in the form of XML Import along with Import Summary.
That’s it you will find all stuff imported. Then press on Ctrl+S to save all the data to your Online account and run the campaign. You will get a report as shown below :
Overall summary:
new campaigns: 1
new ad groups: 1
new keywords: 312
new text ads: 1
By campaign:
Details for campaign ‘Patel Furniture’:
new ad groups: 1
new keywords: 312
new text ads: 1
You can access all the updated stuff in the new account with all the same settings. The only stuff you need to change is the Start Date because in the older account all the campaigns were started in the history and you need to change this to the current date to get started.
