Delete or Remove Applications from FaceBook Account

September 20, 2010 by Amit Bhawani

FaceBook LogoFaceBook is not just interesting but also a useful service because of which millions login to their account every day and also respond to others news stories and updates which is the reason many a times people end up registering for applications which they were not really looking to use.

Whenever you login to your FaceBook account and start using the applications which you are signed up with, they would automatically send status notifications and posts on your wall annoying your friends. If this is regularly happening there are chances that your friends would either block you or else have to Remove notifications and posts.

Now lets get into the process of removing these from your account to ensure the best updates or notifications are only displayed on your profile and not everything.

Click on the Account > Application Settings option available under the drop down on the top right section.

FaceBook Account Settings

Next a new page would be displayed with Application Settings – Recently Used list. Here in you will have to find the applications which you are not willing to use.

FaceBook Application Settings

Click on the Icon ‘X’ which is located at the end of list in order to delete or remove the application access to your account. You will also be asked to rate the Application which is optional but these ratings would be displayed on the application page for other users to find out the average usage ratings.

Remove FaceBook Application

Do make a note – If you remove a application, it will no longer have access to your data and be removed from your profile, bookmarks, and Applications Page.

The problem with the Facebook apps is that some of them get auto installed when even not needed, and we need to keep checking with the privacy options of our account.
