Here is a very interesting video we received this morning through one of our reader. Its from the DLD Conference Munich where Mahalo CEO Jason Calacanis compares all the major content generation websites which are actually spamming the Internet with very low quality content.
Jason clearly is proving in the following video that Demand Media’s major website ie eHow.com is actually generating around 5700 articles every day most of which are sourced by freelance writers and are not of real quality. In short sites like these are spamming the internet with millions of articles every month along with the power of their strong SEO & Link building tactics. There are also some interested statistics shown in the video.
These sites come in search results with keyword rich contents. They focused in quantity only. Not quality. Ehow is an example only. But recently Google announced some measures against these content farms but we have to wait for the result.
Actually ehow is next big thing after hubpages. Peoples are easily making some nice part time income from them. I guess reaching few $100-$1k month will take only few months from them. Also, we don’t need very big articles.
I’m big fan of ehow.com
I think ehow must have good moderator team before any article are published because sometimes unwanted articles are too published. Otherwise its a best platform for HOW TO tips articles
I think it’s funny how Mahalo’s founder thinks eHow is crap and his Mahalo is not. SEOBook’s Aaron Wall has criticized Mahalo many times for spamming Google.
I don’t believe eHow is crap. I’ve learnt some very useful lessons there, and what’s wrong with having an army of freelancers to churn out articles for you ? Wikipedia does the same thing. Is working without pay is more honorable, or ethical ?
Yeah, i agree with your valuable points Amit, because it has the low quality content with the numerous article.
