How to Clean Drip Filter Coffee Maker

Is it necessary to clean our coffee maker?? If so why?? If not what happens?? are some questions which are always present in the mind of the people who use a coffee maker. A drip filter coffee maker needs to be cleaned once in a while to remove the leftover waste of oil from coffee, hard water deposits and impurities of other types. If not cleaned, the taste of the coffee will change and will not be as good as it used to be.

Many people have a thought that cleaning just the pot of the coffee maker is more than enough. For those who think so, what about its internal components?

In order to clean the coffee maker thoroughly, some simple steps need to be followed.
They are:

  1. A mixture of 1 part baking soda to 4 parts of warm water should me made. It should be enough to fill the pot.
  2. The filter of the coffee maker should be placed as usual.
  3. The mixture of baking soda and water should be poured into the coffee maker where water is added normally.
  4. The coffee maker should be turned on to let the mixture run through it completely.
  5. The mixture and filter should be removed and discarded.
  6. The coffee maker should be let to cool down for around 15 minutes after turning it off.
  7. Finally the pot of the coffee maker should be rinsed.

So all those who use a coffee maker, clean it at least once a month so that you can enjoy every sip of your coffee without losing its taste. Its always recommended to clean all your stuff regularly especially food related stuff to make sure its hygenic and you dont get any diseases.
