How to Create a ISO File

ISO file (international organization for standardization file) is an archive file that is composed of many files along with metadata, file directory structure, error detection, recovery information and comments. Archive files may be encrypted in part or whole. Archive file is otherwise known as disk image of an optical disc (a CD which contains audio, video or data encoded in microscopic pit on one of its flat surface) in a format defined by the international organization for standardization. ISO has ISO 9660 file system or compact disc file system and also UDF (universal Disk Format) file system.

Now let us learn how to create ISO file. ISO files can be created using any operating software. All you have to do is extract the contents of the ISO magic file using the following steps. First you have to download and install the magic disc. Magic disc is a freeware which is helpful for creating and managing virtual CD drives and CD/DVD disc. It helps you to access and game, music or any software program even without burning them on to a CD or DVD. Instillation of the magic disc is very easy once it is installed notification of a new Hardware props up.

The next step is to right click the system tray icon (icons on the right hand bottom corner next to the systems clock) and select Make CD/DVD image after inserting the CD/DVD that you what to create an image of and selecting the drive in which you want to put the CD or DVD on, then select the ISO image file from the output format list, name the output file and it will be saved on to the desktop. The next step is to watch the file being crated and once completed a pop up message says it has been successfully completed, all you have to do is to click the OK icon. There are many other programs which helps you to create ISO files, like Undisker, Nero, Ultral SO 8.6, WinRAR 3.5, Free ISO creator 1.2, Self- Extracting Archive utility 17.3, Absolute Packager 1.1, WinZip Self-Extractor 3.1, iWellSoft Power ISO Maker 1.7, Power DVD Ripper and Power ISO Maker 1.7are some of them.
