Windows Operating system may be quite easy in understanding, while Mac would look a bit difficult but that’s not the case if you really try out the different keyboard shortcuts available to you. After giving a few tries, it feels like the Mac Operating system is quite more powerful and also helpful with the advanced features. Here are a few shortcuts which can help you in doing these tasks.
Following are a list of all the different shortcuts which would help you in getting the tasks done, and they should be done with the combination of keys. Also note that the Command button which is on the left side of the Spacebar is also called as the ‘Apple Key’.
Command-M Minimize window
Option-Command-M Minimize all windows
Command-H Hide the windows of the currently running application
Option-Command-H Hide the windows of all other running applications
Command-Tab Switch application–cycle forward
Shift-Command-Tab Switch application–cycle backward

These shortcuts are quite similar to the ones you find in Windows Operating System, but have a little difference which you need to keep in mind and them implement. Its always better to Hide or Minimize your current application instead of just closing it while you need to access the home section.
Useful tips. When I first saw a Mac I had some troubles minimizing and maximizing windows actually!
