How to Revive a Dead Notebook

October 20, 2009 by Jyoti Bhawani

A mini laptop is generally termed as a netbook. Its popularity is increasing with each passing day, especially among the business executives and entrepreneurs, due to the fact that its portable, has good durability and when comes under the tag of an international reputed brand, provides the user with top quality services. Technically speaking, a dead notebook means a notebook which is not active, rather is not able to function. This thing can happen due to few major reasons.

Firstly a notebook can be dead due to the ineffectiveness of its battery. In order to increase and conserve netbook battery power, it is very crucial to regularly defragment the hard drive so that the frequency of spin involved with it decreases, thereby extending the power usage of the battery. Such technical measure is rational in its own way as it intends to optimize the data placement on the hard drive and helps in modulating unnecessary hard drive activity. Also, to revive a dead notebook, its battery system needs to be dealt more delicately. It is imperative to properly condition the battery of the notebook that is to completely drain it and then recharge it to accomplish successful power management of the battery.

Another major reason is a frozen start up problem. In this case, it is advised to unplug the device and to remove the battery from the system. Resultantly the power supply of the laptop would immediately be cut off and the laptop would be shut down instantly. After this specific step it is suggested to the user to hold his or her patience and allow the laptop to conventionally reboot itself. After that the laptop should be allowed to cool down its internal system for an hour or so before the power supply is yet again provided to it.

The notebook is more prone to become dead, rather inactive because it is sure to get a few unwanted bumps due to mishandling. But if it is a more general problem incurred by its hardware, then it is not really an ardent task to revive it from its dead state and again make it properly function.

Dead laptop from internal side of the operating system can be still revived, but the external errors and damages are the ones that cannot be avoided.
