We have been enjoying the Apple iPhone with the iOS Operating System which runs flawless and is just awesome but recently we have started becoming fans of the Android phones and this is mainly because of the OS again. Now here is a option through which you can easily install the Android OS on your iOS based devices.
This needs to ensure that you are using the jailbroken iphones and have the Cydia App running on it.
Steps to Install Android on iPhone :
- Head onto Cydia,
- Look for repo: http://repo.neonkoala.co.uk
- Install Bootlace
- Install iDroid from within Bootlace, and you’re set for a dual boot
The application Bootlace v2.1 is not directly available under the Cydia unless you add the repo under sources. Under Cydia click on the Sources > Edit > Add > Enter Cydia/APT URL > http://repo.neonkoala.co.uk Next click on the Add Source button. The URL would be Verified and the sources would be updated after the packages are downloaded.
Next you will have to search for ‘Bootlace’ under the Search option. You will get the following application. Tap on the Install > Confirm button which will download a 585.8 kb app followed by cURL and then you need to tap on ‘Return to Cydia’.
The application would be listed on your Home Screen.
Following screenshots can help you in understanding more on how this app would be used and how you could dual boot into both Android Froyo 2.2 and Apple iOS.
The app is supported for iPhone 2G – 3.1.2 & 3.1.3 , iPhone 3G – 3.1.2, 3.1.3, 4.0, 4.0.1, 4.0.2 & 4.1. Also only supported if the device is Jailbroken using PwnageTool, Redsn0w & Blackra1n.
