How to Install Microsoft Zune Software on Windows PC

December 4, 2010 by Amit Bhawani

Microsoft needs you to install the Zune software in order to sync or transfer files from your Windows 7 Phone. In order to install the same you need to perform the following steps. First of all you need to visit the official zune.net website and click on the ‘download now’ button. Before you start downloading you need to ensure that your computer has the following three minimum requirements.

  • A 1 gigahertz (GHz) or faster 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x64) processor
  • 1 gigabyte (GB) RAM (32-bit) or 2 GB RAM (64-bit)
  • Broadband Internet connection

If you have the above requirements then proceed with the download option without registration as it’s not mandatory. Once you start downloading it would take a few minutes to complete the download as the installation file is around ~120Mb following which you need to double-click on the file for installation on your computer. You will be initially shown with a ‘Microsoft License terms’ window which you need to accept in order to continue.

Next you would be asked to select or change the folder where you would like to install the Zune. You can also click on the check box to allow the application to ‘Send info about setup to help improve experience’. Click on the Install button to continue.
