Mind Mapping tool to Increase work productivity & ideas

Have you heard about “mind meister”, no then after reading this post you will never forget about what it is and what it can do! Mind meister is basically a web based mind mapping tool. Now, you may ask, what this tool will be useful for.

This tool basically does two things, first one is it enables sharing of maps with others in either full collaborative mode or in read only format giving a full and complete monitoring service. The second main thing this does is this integrates skype so that Voice over internet protocol, in short VoIP or Instant messaging (IM) chat so that it can be conducted when editing a map in a collaborative manner.

Firstly, let us have a look at the dashboard of mind meister:

In the preview shown above, you can see that right away you can find all the maps with a new little preview of current content. On same screen, you can also create a new map or upload the same. The most lovely feature is that this supports mind manager, mind jet and also free minda. You can upload the maps if you have anything on USB, all styles like font size, icons, color patter gets imported as it is without any hassles and also which can be altered whenever felt necessary. To import, you can first browse and can upload the same as shown below:

The one thing which you too will love is its clean and fresh yet simple editing area which directly takes you to options like adding, editing trees and nodes which sometimes becomes huge hassles in other counter softwares. In this if you want to move then all you need to do is to just drag and drop or even zoom in or zoom out for doing the same. If you have configured all and suddenly if it crashes down then, not to worry as all data gets auto saved.

Now, comes sharing and collaboration part. Just like Google docs and spreadsheets, you can now invite other users to directly editor view the map. All you will need is just an email address and nothing else.

You can very well export these maps in various formats such as Free mind file, mind manager 6, RTF and also to a simple GIF file. It would have been really great if it would had an export option to PDF form.
Exporting

Of course you can export your maps again. And this into a various formats such as FreeMind File, MindManager 6, RTF (which outputs a document with the structure of an index) and a simple GIF image file. Sadly there is no PDF export (yet).

So, for all your Docs, you have Google Docs and for all your mind maps you now have Mind Meister. Let’s also have a look at the difference between the basic which is free version as well as the premium version which is a paid one.
