Mukesh Ambani’s new house Antilia is under construction right now and is said to have 27 floors with 600 full staff to be working in the whole building.The height of these 27 floors would be equivalent to 60 floors of a normal building/apartment. The current residence of mukesh ambani is at Cuffe Parade. The new ambani’s home would have 3 helipads , Six floors for parking, a full floor for car maintenance, Balconies with gardens , Entertainment floor with 50 people seating floor, a refuge floor which would come in use in emergencies, facilities for athletics and a swimming pool, 2 full floors made of glass-front especially for guests of ambanis though 
BMC(Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation) officials have announced that the helipad permissions have not yet been granted.
Mukesh Ambani bought the Antilia 49,000 square foot plot in year 2002 and the whole construction will rise to 570 feet with the height of 60 floors though the real contruction would be of just 27 floors. The construction is at Altamount Road where the current land rates are at 75000Rs/square feet and 6 floors are already completed with the whole construction to be completed by september 2008.The top four floors, with a panoramic view of the city and the Arabian Sea beyond, are expected to be for Ambani, his wife Nita, mother Kokilaben and the couple’s three kids.
According to BMC records, the total area of Mukesh’s Altamount Road plot is 4,532.39 square meters. The proposed built-up area is 4,778.09 square meters (only for residential purposes), and the permissible built-up area 4,939.81 square meters. Lets see what anil ambani is planning after seeing mukesh ambani’s upcoming big house and sucess of reliance companies held by mukesh.
The current news is that mukesh ambani has already reached 50billion dollar level and will soon beat software kind bill gates, and this is the reason anil ambani is all get set to start Reliance Power IPO which is expected to come by october 2007.Anil ambani can also expect a heavy premium on the shares to be issued with many times over subscription of the shares. One can then claim the payments back in returns. Its clearly Ambanis business what he does with his money, he does not owe you an explanation. You either accept this or keep rolling in jealousy.
@Sujith: I beg to disagree with saving tax by donating. If you hav say 200 and tax @ 30%, you pay Rs 60. So you are left with Rs 140.
If donation gives you deduction, and donate 100, then your tax is reduced to 30% of Rs 100 and pay tax of Rs 30 instead of Rs 60. But now you are left with 70. Whats the point, unless you do it to give out something to society.

For those of you commenting on Bill Gates in a negative way please go check your facts. Bill Gate’s house is valied at around 135 million and was built for around 50 million. Muksh’s house cost 1 billion dollars. Bill Gates also loves in America and is the largest donor of charity in the entire WORLD. Looking at the competition, Hutch/Orange and Airtel had to also reduce their prices. Check your facts, India is the cheapest when it comes to telecom services. About charity, I really do not know if Mr Ambani do that, Bill is blessed to have friend like Warren buffet who give 90% of their entire money to their charity. I think what Ambanis have done is to provide people with jobs and opportunities to become big and those people who have taken this in their stride have actually made it big.

All the power houses Tata, Birlas, Mittals or the Ambanis. If you consider that they have brought in jobs have generated wealth then all is great! But how of this wealth they generated went to the people who work for them who in turn could help spread the wealth down the chain. I seriously doubt if these people pay the same as Bill Gates or Warren Buffet pays their people if they did we would not have talented Indians working for them but would have worked for these wealthy dynasties. Yes – Dynasties – these are people with mentaility of the servile Raj era. This is not democracy or capitalism. To all the economists out there wake up and try to understand what is going on. What we need is a serious consideration into minimum wage for the lowest wage earners in the country if we have to sustain a true progress on all fronts. Charity is not the solution! Paying 10% of what you make to the people who work for you and keeping the rest for you and doing charity off of the 20% of the remaining 90% will only make you look good publicly but will not help improve the situation. I say more power to these power houses but don’t eat it all. Play fair and nuture the entreprenuers and vast pool of human resource in the country.

Poverty alleviation is expected to make better progress in the next 50 years than in the past, as a trickle-down effect of the growing middle class. Increasing stress on education, reservation of seats in government jobs and the increasing empowerment of women and the economically weaker sections of society, are also expected to contribute to the alleviation of poverty.
Eradication of poverty can only be a very long-term goal in India.

Gates is donating more than half of his wealth in various health and welfare programmes under different UN agencies. Though he is donating via his wife’s foundation it is actually going to the welfare of the entire globe. And still he is the richest (latest forbes standing). Coming to house, Mumbai has the highest number of slum population in the world. If he would have thought about it and do a little favour to all those slum dwellers it would have earned him more accolade and pride instead of making such an extravagent house.
