February 9, 2009 by Amit Bhawani

Packard Bell Mp3The Packard Bell MP3 offers extra functions adding to a regular MP3 player, including a number of interesting features. In addition to listening to MP3s, the device lets you record voice recordings and listen to the radio. Furthermore, a neatly finished USB 2.0 connection is applied for easy transfer of files to your MP3 player.

The Packard Bell MP3 player is available in a 1GB and 2GB version together with the option of FM radio and recording. The choice between the two depends on how much music you want to put on it. The rechargeable Lithium-Ion battery is built-in and will start recharging as soon as the MP3 player is connected to the PC. A fully charged battery is functionally for as much as 20 hours.

This Packard Bell MP3 player is small with its dimensions of 2.6 x 0.8 x 0.81 inches. The package includes a set of earplugs, a USB cable and a quick user’s guide. The rectangular form and the round navigation button on the front look simple but stylish. There are two more buttons found on the top side, one to put the MP3 player on hold and one to enter the menu. To the left, the 3.5 mm stereo jack connection is placed. Furthermore, a hidden USB connection is available here to connect the MP3 player to the pc for charging or transferring MP3s

It has an OLED monitor which is also known as the Black Magic Screen of Packard Bell. The quality is similar to other screens but the design makes it outstanding. The OLED monitor can also be adjusted for contrast, backlight, screen security and energy saving. A single button is responsible for arranging the volume, fast forward and switch between songs and switching on and off.

The Menu button, found at the top side next to the hold button, offers access to a number of menu options which are Speech, Music, Radio, Settings, Record and Navigate. All icons are clearly displayed for the benefit of the user. The menu is user-friendly and has a logical structure.

As far as music is concerned, you can set the equalizer and you can put a song on repeat. In addition, you can decide here whether you make a voice recording or record from the radio. Furthermore, general settings such as language and default settings can be changed here. The Packard Bell is equipped with radio functionality. You can manually search for stations and you can also use the auto scan function. The USB 2.0 connection ensures fast file transfer. This makes up for having to frequently connect your MP3 to the computer, in order to upload music, download it, change a file name or to recharge the device. Basically the Packade bell MP3 allows you to enjoy more than a regular MP3 has on offer.
