Prices of Android Phones in India

August 18, 2010 by Chetan Bhawani 19 Comments

Thanks to Google, the gadget lovers in India have got their hands easy on the best mobile phones having their open source operating system Android, unlike the iPhone OS whose phones were at sky high price, which most won’t afford to buy.
I recently purchased the Samsung Galaxy S, which is considered one of the best in India with Android OS, apart from the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10, and HTC desire. While confirming it with the Indian market, here are the prices of various phones available in India with the Android OS.

Samsung phones with Android –

  • Samsung I9000 Galaxy S – Rs.27,500
  • Samsung I7500 Galaxy – Rs 14,550
  • Samsung I5700 Galaxy Spica – Rs 12,050
  • Samsung I5801 Galaxy 3 – Rs. 10,750

Motorola phones with Android –
Motorola Milestone XT720 – Rs. 30,000
Motorola Milestone – Rs. 26,500

LG phones with Android –

The hope is on that Nokia releases a few of their products taking Android as the operating system, as Nokia has always been one of the most flexible phones around, and Android being an open-source platform, would be an added advantage for users.

Chetan, thanks a lot for sharing this info. Will be quite useful to the Android fans in India. Are you aware of any in-depth comparison of the flagship models from different makers? In your opinion, which is the best? Any specific reason for opting for the Galaxy S other than the Super Amoled screen? Finally, are these freely available in all shops or it comes with a deal with say, Tata Docomo, Airtel etc.?

    Suresh,

In-depth comparison as you request, would be posted very soon in the blog. So keep checking, as I’m in the process of reviewing other flagship models to compare within them.

And Samsung Galaxy S has quite few good features other than just the AMOLED screen, would be posting about that too.
And these all phones are available without any contract or deals, thanks to the Android open source platform unlike the locked platforms like the iPhone OS which need to be unlocked to be used by any other network than the one you bought it from.

first of all samsung galaxy i7500 (wave) price is no less than a best price of 17500

and secondly it isn’t even an android phone.

which makes me question the accuracy of the rest of your summary article

HTC phones are best of the lot, class written all over them. One thing more MOTOROLA phones are a little over rated, they dont deserve the price tag they possess.
