Randomize your Adsense Ad Colour Palette on Page Refresh

July 17, 2008 by Amit Bhawani 16 Comments

Dont you think you can make your regular visitors get bored by showing the same ad colours in your Google Adsense ad units? Dont they expect a new change and dont you think that if you have a new colour when ever the visitor reads some other article from your blog they would expect something new? Well the logic is simple if you have a ad layout which is well blended with your page background colour and the text colour fixed to something like black or blue, dont you think that the images added in the posts cannot really well blend always and you could have tried a variation like a red or green colour palette.

Guaranteed 25% Increase in your Adsense Revenue

Google Adsense allows you to change you ad colours into 6 different variations randomly on every page reload and this is only possible if you are using the older ad codes and not the new ones which can be directly managed from your account. The Google adsense new ad colour codes are easy to manage as a publisher but has no options to show up different colours in random orders. You can just get the channel code and Pub-ID from your new ad codes and replace in the following Sample Random Ad Colour Pallete Template and get started. I have been using this and have seen a significantly 3% increase in my CTR though many of my readers keep sending me emails referring to use a better ad colour paletter but when they refresh the same page they themselves get surprised for a new coloured ads on my blog.

Normal Ad Code Template :
<script type=”text/javascript”><!–
google_ad_client = “pub-XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX”;
google_ad_width = 160;
google_ad_height = 600;
google_ad_format = “160x600_as”;
google_ad_type = “text”;
google_ad_channel = “XXXXXXXXXXX”;
google_color_border = “FFFFFF”;
google_color_bg = “FFFFFF”;
google_color_link = “666666”;
google_color_text = “666666”;
google_color_url = “666666”;
//–>
</script>
<script type=”text/javascript”
src=”http://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/show_ads.js”>
</script>

Google Adsense Random Colour Palette Template :
google_color_border = [“FFFFFF”,”FFFF66″,”6131BD”,”FFFF66″];
google_color_bg = [“FFFFFF”,”3D81EE”,”3D81EE”,”000033″];
google_color_link = [“990033″,”FFFFCC”,”FFFF66″,”FFFF66″];
google_color_url = [“990033″,”FFFFFF”,”FFFFFF”,”FFFFFF”];
google_color_text = [“000000″,”FFFFCC”,”FFFFCC”,”FFFFCC”];

There is no need to use any crappy adsense plugin, because this simple above changes in your ad codes can help you increase your adsense revenue and also makes sure that your visitors dont go ad blind seeing the same ad formats and colours. You can use upto 4 different colour palette’s and this trick can be set up on any adsense page and not just wordpress blogs because we are not setting this up using a plugin but making some changes in the ad codes which are allowed as per the TOS of Google Adsense. Do let me know if you like this tip for making more money with Google Adsense Program.

    Amit thats a real great trick to increase the revenue, where do we get the old adsense code for all the ad-types supported by Google Adsense, and what about the channel, will the channel be the same as any in the new code.Will try this for sure.Is there no way of doing it using the new code??

    @ Venkat : Just create the new ad codes and take the channel code & PUB-ID from it and replace in the above code templates, you can change it to 468×15, 336×280, 250×250, 120×600 kind of ad slots.

    Multiple palette in adsense admin can also do the trick. Just create a color palette then save. Ctrl+click the palette you want to use or drag. then save that setting. be sure to add a channel name for easy modification.
