In the above listed plans – Reliance Netconnect team announces couple Unlimited plans but they are not really 100% Unlimited and there is a 10Gb limit/month on the unlimited usage policy, hence dont expect to download tonnes of data by opting for the Unlimited plans.
i am from hyderabad
the reliance plans are all more expensive than bsnl. bsnls ev-do 2mhz unlimited 24 x 7 citywide charges only rs.550 plus if you have not purchased ev-do from themlrental of rs200 p.m. i am using the plan quite happily.
the lower side of bsnl ev-do plans is they have not yet opened multiple towers and their cdma servers are often unable to handle traffic resulting in the frequency varying from 100kbps to 2200kbps. can you stimulate bsnl now to improve on their lapses
thebsnl for some reasons is not giving much publicity to this plan and availability of ev-do has also become scarce. bsnl has to go a long way to rectify its defects and also to create public awareness of their ev-do plans by repeated tv/newspaper/google advertisements and also taking help from bloggers like you
i need to travel to india to take care family in chandigarh and want to dail to my work in united states I heard reliance broadband is only wireless solution. last trip I purchased tata indicom data card its speed was horible. please let me know where in panchkula, chd I can buy the broadband card thx in advance rgd krishan.arora@zoominternet.net
Reliance is quite good, you can buy it online itself at http://offers.connectindia.in/ or give your contact details in India and they will be contacting them and taking a payment of 3500Rs initially along with documents and offering the connection. Iam using from past 3 years and its quite good.
hai
i want 2 kw th details of bsnl data card and sent it to my email plz……………………. . i hop u will sent me the details of bsnl data card
For: anjaneya murthy
BSNL will not be able to increase the number of EVDO sites, so your datacard will continue to work in diff ranges of speeds and so on it wil actually come to a CDMA1X…Reliance is launching in 35 cities with 4500 towers so you can only imagine how good the performance will be… Try it
Good stuff there Amit. Any idea of when it will be launched as I eagerly await it’s arrival. You may take notice that offersindia is offering some sort of a scheme for this which Reliance may offer as well. You have to pay 3500 for the modem upon which the first two months would be totally free so the net cost would come down to zero.
for gourav:
i am a retired senior citizen at home. the cheapest internet access with unlimited dounloads is most useful to persons like me. there is really no urgency for speed in our usage. i spend time seeing news from various tv and news sites as well as umpty number of emails i get from newspapers to whom i have subscribed free. it is true that as of now with the present inefficiency/inability of bsnl, the bsmls ev-do scheme may not be very attractive to roaming business persons. i also feel this inability of bsnl is wanton and not incapability because they seem to have provided the evdo scheme for bsnls publicity but they want to actually promote only broadband schemes which earns them more revenue.
@Gourav and anjaneya murthy.
There is no way I am gonna consider Reliance as a substitute to BSNL EVDO. Just look at that price 1750 and still not truely unlimited. BSNL’s kickass 550 plan is better affordable by many of our citizens. Of course it has several drawbacks related to speed variability, roaming, constomer care, and availablity of the modems. Still BSNL ftw! I am not saying this coz I am a hardcore fan of BSNL, but I particularly like their internet services for instance Dataone which has proven its popularity even in rural places. Our country needs services of that sort with equitable distribution among various sectors and at the same time, it must be affordable by a common man. Reliance neglects this basic principle when they designed their tariff plans. I agree it is much more convenient, but way too costly. I wish they can do the magic they did with postpaid mobiles here.
Mr. Murthy, can you please let me know in which areas are you getting EVDO speeds of 2Mbps? I reside in Musheerabad and I am just getting CDMA speeds. Hoping for a quick update to EVDP by BSNL soon…………..
I am also looking for a reliance broadband EVDO card connection at hyderabadm has anyone got it, let me know from where please, so that i can purchase it
even ive been taking a long wait for bsnl evdo… i just came back home frm bsnl office in kottapet(hyderabad) that man asked me to come back on may 1st… there are no evdo cards karte… i dont knw… i think i will go with reliance one which is going to be LAUNCHED TOMORROW. i cant wait so long time.. and yes… the disadvantage with reliance is that its tariff is so high. i guess night time unlimited one 499 must be good for students like me who download alot. i think i will go with this plan. if am wrong plz let me know.and i also advice ppl in hyd to go with reliance, as its signal is very good tru out the nation+ there must be no probs for the signal in hyd as bsnl is too slow in attracting customers.
BSNl is the cheapest and best. Put your bet on it if value is the first criterion.
2mbps lines with 2.5 gb monthly download limit, in my view is the best value for money. There is also night time free download(most usable time is 6-8am without any pressure on health). Private companies even dont offer 50%, i repeat 50%, of the value.
As regards maintenance standard I can guarantee that the private company staff are no gods. The unexperienced staffs (mostly but not always)may put you through a high blood pressure.
In bsnl the download speed from dedicated big company servers are almost 200 kbps (i.e. 1 mb in 5-10 seconds). Torrent download may however vary depending on the seed/peer availability, firewall blockage of packets etc, software but is good and download is at 50-170kbps.
Private companies take twice the price charged by BSNL.Well no problem, we are ready to fish out the money, but atleast not till they guarantee an equivalent increasein response to customer problem and of course error free billing.
http://www.speedtest.net/result/461374166.png hey checkout the results of spped test of my reliance broadband!
is it possible with out land line phone to get the wireless bandwith in BSNL?
@giri,
if a maximum speed of 2mbps and a maximum download speed of 250KBPS suit your needs, there is no need to have a phone to get broadband. apply to bsnl for EV-DO plan for 2mbps @ monthly rental of rs.550/- for true unlimited downloads as of now. you can pay a monthly additional rent of rs.200/ for ev-do usb modem or make an outrighr purchase for rs.3200 in which case you need not pay addl 200/. your total monthly bill then comes to 607/- (550+tax57) irrespective of your surfing and downloads. if you dont get proper response from area cro of bsnl, meet the bsnl general manager and demand for service.of late the personal of bsnl have become somewhat sluggish and need to be awakened.
i am happy with bsnl nic card, bsnl nic offer Rs 250 par for 144kbps & unlimited uses, downloud speed up to 20kbps i got, this is realy good for that who is use net just for surfing.i egree this is not so good for downloud.
The reliance broadband+ is not really better choise, i bought 4 days before, and i have been getting troubles with it. It works for only 1 hour then it disconnect automatically and never connect again in that day. It sucks
Can some one tell me how is the new Relaince net connect performance. I really want to have any wireless connection wtih good speed and no frequent dis connects. Please suggest me the best option
BSNL has recently reduced its PCMCIA NIC & EVDO card prices to Rs.1680 & Rs.2100 respectively. Also, they charge rental of Rs.350/mo for 144kbps and Rs.650/mo for 2mbps, that too for a truly unlimited access.
They are also providing roaming facility. Please check the link below for details.
http://bsnl.co.in/newsdetailed.php?news_id=473
They are also going to expand their EVDO base to 270+ cities shortly as against just 35cities for reliance broadband+.
In terms of tariff, reliance is no where near to BSNL.
