Sell your Blog Advertisement Space with BlogAds Ad Units

We have been using the blogads.com service from years and the only drawback with their service till now was the limitation of the Ad size units which was mostly vertical ad banners with text support. This was not only a limitation to the publishers but also to the advertisers who were always looking for different ad sizes to promote their products and services. Here is a copy of the latest email from Blogads which announces that they now support different ad sizes along with CPM based pricing model.

I hope you’re having a great week! After a huge coding push, we’ve added some cool new ad units to the mix you can offer advertisers. We’re also incorporating some industry-standard units for your advertisers who like to do it old school.

Please feel free to log in and add some of these new units to your blog! The units are all designed to help capture more ad dollars for you. (For now, please don’t post about the new units, since we want to build up a critical mass of blogs before pushing this out to advertisers and the ad industry press.)

More details spelled out:

• Classic Adverpost – A sponsored post that can be sold between posts. Customizable and marked as an advertisement, it will remain stationary throughout the day.
• Large Adverpost – The same as the classic, but with a larger post image available.
• 728×270 – Turn your leaderboard position into a billboard position with this enticing ad unit.
• 300×250 – This size is popular and versatile, and it fits in the sidebar, at the top right of most site templates, and also between posts.
• 300×600 – A giant ad to grab the attention of the big fish – this is the kind of exposure an agency can really sell to their client.
• 728×90 – The foundation for many campaigns, this leaderboard unit can be placed under the masthead of your site, or between posts.

To make it easy for advertisers to buy on a mix of big and small blogs, these units will continue to be sold on a time-based, flat fee basis. Since they are bigger than traditional blogads, these units will be sold by day rather than week (with a 3 day minimum), with the addition of an SOV option (they can purchase all of the pageviews on your site for a specific time period, down to 1/10th of your impressions). The juggling will be handled automatically by our system.

You can place our units on their own, or you can easily add us to your current banner lineup. Adding your remnant tags to our system will allow you to price our units at a premium, and they will only appear when they’ve been purchased at this price. Since your remnant tags will cover unsold inventory, you can price our code at a premium without sacrificing the space when our ads aren’t running.

We’ve worked hard to incorporate these new ad units seamlessly into our current system, so the creation and setup of these units is the same as our previous offerings, with only marginally different changes in pricing.
