For all the users of Samsung Galaxy S there will be a smile on your face for sure after hearing that you can now update your Galaxy S GT I9000 with the latest Gingerbread version 2.3.2. Now, you may ask that what are the pre requisites or what are the new things which have made place in the update. Now you don’t have to wait for Nexus S or any other Gingerbread device as you can now experience Gingerbread on Galaxy S itself.

To be frank there are no special pre requisites for updating your device as any Galaxy S I 9000 user across the globe can update the device to 2.3.2 and also irrespective of your current stock like 2.1, 2.2 or 2.2.1 can go ahead and can update the phone easily with this Gingerbread build. The speed has been substantially increased in this Gingerbread build and also most importantly the overall user interface has now been shaped into a new avatar right from the battery logo change to the change in the network bar along with the main menu drag window with several other visible changes.

Apart from all this there’s now a new option in the applications wherein all the downloads made from the Internet browser will be listed separately and you can view them easily. Apart from this the moving water wall paper is back and the Internet browser speed has been drastically improved with a new Neon look in the drop down home screen.

Improvements in 2.3.2:

  • Improved speeds with Quadrant Scores of 1000+ without any lag fixes,
  • All new Neon look drag down home screen menu with changed battery and Network bar signals,
  • Reduced boot time compared to earlier versions,
  • Faster Internet Experience,
  • New downloads section,
  • Improved and Faster UI,
  • Improved Pinch,
  • Improved Battery Usage stats,
  • Better visibility of transitions when “All Animations” option is selected

Today when i connected my Galaxy S 9000, I was prompted to update the firmware from CSC:JPS to CSC:JV6. I have tried numerous times, but on each attempt the upgrade is disconnected and returns again to the upgrade message page. Tried numerious times, after uninstalling Kies and reinstalling, switch on switch off, etc, but of no use. hence thought of writing to you to know if you have any solution for this.
