I havent tried it myself but as skype runs on android it should also run on this mobile.

Videocon CC has called me today & confirmed me that the 2.1 update is available for Videocon Zeus V7500.
I have not yet gone to their service centre. Will update after getting the feel of that.
Hope they will update to version 2.2
Or atleast the option for saving the application in memory cards.
Got the 2.1 update for v7500 from CC.
It is supporting live wallpapers.
The browser is not now opening all pages.
Even their own page is not opening, it is showing some errors.
No option for installing the application in SD card.

Guys I have updated the phone but was not happy with the performance as the updated allowed the proscesser only allowed it to work till 443Mhz.

got my phone updated to 2.1.
cons :- the processer is limited to work till 443Mhz to conserve battery.
so i rotted the phone by using Rom Manager it also install superuser and updated to the custom rom called boston Vanilla & Sugar
which is better than the 2.1 update .
Now i have update to 2.2 Froyo working fine and faster than 2.1 will try 2.3 after it gets released from any modders..

it’s the worst phone possibly one could buy. After paying 11k, immediately after 1st call I got disappointed, call quality it very very bad. Leave beside the juice (8GB card, car charger etc) what’s the top most thing a phone should be able provide ? …. a good voice clarity ! .. but alas videocon has failed miserably. And to top it up .. it frequently restarts as well .. it sucks.
I regret my decision to buy indian company phone .. should have relied on korean made ..

Nandan you can update it from any of the videocon service centres as given in their manual.
i think there are 3 service centres given in the manual for bangalore. you can choose the nearest one to your location. While going take a backup of your contacts in sd card.
Also take the original bill along with the phone.
Without the bill they will not update your phone & it may take some half an hour for them to complete the update.

Hello after rooting the phone, is it possible to go back to the previous versoin of 2.1 that the service center guys updated to get the warrant back. If no then there will be a big problem with the warranty part. Guys think twice before rooting your phone unless and until U get the official 2.1 update as a backup.

Just download z4mod in to your sd card\
Install & do permanent root
when rooted you will get a superuser icon
After that download Firetrap twonights + SUT tool.
Put your phone in download mode(Power off then press – Power+Vol Up+Red buttons)& connect to PC
Once in download mode open SUT software.
when the software detects the phone select the Firetrap software .nbo file & then select erase all data.(Note you have to take a backup of your phone contacts to sd card before starting this)
when it finishes the steps your phone will boot & you will get Android 2.2
First time booting may take some time so leave it to boot & have a fuller battery wile attempting these things.
Also note to install all these you should have Android 2.1(do it from the service centre)

all guys please note installing the cyanogenmod 6 stable version is not good as it drains the battery very quickly.
Now if u want to try only cyanogen then try ver 7 build 39 from their website.

i have two service centers nearby .. one just so close to my house …but both these ppl are not supporting videocon zeus update nor selling the model anymore. .. i dont know why .. it seems i have to travel long just to get this update … btw i am from kerala kollam 🙂

hi there, yes you can only upgrade to froyo 2.2.1 version from Eclair 2.1 version.
You will have to update your V7500 from nearest service centre to Eclair 2.1 version.

I have successfully updated from stock 1.6 to 2.1 then to a custom version named jellybean all went well. I didn’t go to service center at all.
Tools used SUTLR
Phone in download mode (red + vol up + power)
Spice site 2. 1 (down load and install then go to program folder and copy out fox -****. Nb0)
You will lose warranty but it works… and we can put back those videocon splash screen and boot animation

Like after Starting the sutlr what should i do

i have already downloaded MI-300-Eclair-Software-Updater-Tool.zip from their website is it the correct one.
Download the desired ROM with .nb0 extension and unzip it to your hard disk (not on your phone’s SD card)
Download this application, SUTLR v1.7.0, unzip and install on your computer
Connect your phone to the computer via USB
Power off you phone and restart in DOWNLOAD MODE (for Commtiva Z71 variants – long press red button + volume up + power)
Start the SUTLR application you installed in step 2
Click next, locate your .nb0 file
In the drop down below, select Erase user data and click next
That’s it, the software will flash the .nb0 on to your phone
i have found this procedure is it same as u did for your phone
sorry for the late reply .. you should have mailed me directly ..
There is a .nb0 file inside the spice update tool. i mean after downloading and installing the setup of spice update utility search in your C drive for a file named F0X-3260-0-0002-A01.nb0
then copy or cut it to some other location. keep it.
close the spice update tool
install and open SUTLR tool
point the SUTLR to this F0X-3260-0-0002-A01.nb0 file (spices 2.1 eclair version)
then optionally select ERASE USER DATA too on the SUTLR
click next next …. and do the up date .it will take around 5 to 20 mins depending upon your pc speed.

I think F0X-3260-0-0002-A01.nb0 is for upgrading from 2.1 to 2.2.
Because from official update zip of spice i found F0X-219M-0-5015-A01.nb0 which is for upgrading to 2.1 from 1.6
So i think i have to upgrade first from 1.6 to 2.1 by F0X-219M-0-5015-A01.nb0 .
And after that 2.1 to 2.2 from F0X-219M-0-5015-A01.nb0.
using the same procedure.
Am i right ?

And what i have to do after the above process will it be running properly or i have to do some more work on it.
Like in some other tutorials they talk about clockwork recovery and other things so i am little confused.

hello, i have upgraded Zeus from 2.1 to 2.2 firetrap twonights. Everything is superb especially battery life. one problems is that in recovery mode i am not able to enable Apps2SD. There is no key to select this option. Please guide me and is it possible to install another mode now ???
While the ROM is installed it is automatically done.
So no need to do it once again.
Go to manage applications & select application & move to SD card.
Note some applications will not have this feature.
Try Jellybean which is more smoother than two nights.
I have gone to jellybean through 2.1
So for safety go to Android 2.1(Spice nbo file using SUT tool) & then try Jellybean using SUT.
Backup datas & contacts before doing for safety.

your boot animation file is located in /system/media/bootanimation.zip
if you already have a backed up videocon bootanimation.zip put it there using either root explorer in jelly bean or use adb push /filename /system/media/bootanimation.zip command from your pc
there is still a better way get QtAdb.exe its a pc suite for android phones google it to get it. install and u can access all location of your phone from your pc . keep in touch or read my blog . you all can join and post also. help each other .

i found the call quality is really good. but what i dont like is the camera .. its good in a way but there is no auto focus. so no macro or different photo modes. GPS is best i get an accuracy of 6mts indoor.
and the quadrant benchmark says 765 (when running jellybean) that is just below the samsung galaxy s.

most probably it wont work on zues… cos the hardware of both fones are different. try 2.2 jelly bean or check boston-mania sites he has a lot of roms which are compactible for zues .. they have official 2.2 Foxconn thats what our phone is.. Foxconn /commtiva z71 /z51 .. there is work going on to put gingerbread 2.3.3 is the latest … wait for the final release.

Hello anybody please help. I have installed phatom evo on my Zeus worked well no problems, but since i have made setcpu profile to interactive and plugged in the charger and left it overnight. In the morning i found it dead with no battery indication too. Now it is totally dead. I have removed the battery for 1 day then also nothing happens. No recovery mode too. what to do. My phone is in warranty period now but as i have installed the rom, i hope i have voided the warranty. Please guide me.

first do permanent root by using z4root(from 4 shared) then download rom manager then open rom manager click on flash clockwork mode recovery after that in rom manager click on download rom then on cyanogen mode 7.03 simple yaar but ur phone should b on 2.1 dont worry if it takes some time…

Phantom Sky Revolution is the best as of now.
Even after installing more than 80 apps/games I have the full phone memory near to 120MB free.
Having no problems as of now.

nothing bro its work fine but when i install too many application over 100 then some luncher legs, otherwise its work perfect with about 85 application on sd card .
