10 Ways to Increase Your Email Clickthrough Rate

Increase salesEmail marketing for the years has been a successful form of internet marketing. It’s a form of direct marketing which uses electronic mail as means of their promotions. Email marketing has become successful as over half of the internet users have their own email and they check their mailbox for new emails regularly.

The main purpose of email marketing is to make users click-through the links in the mails and more the click-through rate you have the more is the successful email marketing campaign.

It’s not that easy to make the users to click on the links present in the mails, but making sure of the following steps will ensure that you get the best out of email marketing that you are doing.

1. Keep the look Simple & Clean

Make sure that you keep the layout the email very simple and clean such that navigation links and overall emails looks like the natural email. Make sure that you don’t have larger image on the header which makes the readers move away from the email. Simple is your design the simple it is to read the complete mail.

2. Add Supporting Video in the mail

Adding an embedded video in the mail will be a good choice because people would love to watch video instead of reading whole the content provided by you. The idea here would be to link to the page with the actual video so that when the readers click on the video they are onto your page.

3. Put the best part first

The best part of your mail should always come first. Most people read all their emails in the preview pane of their email client so first impressions is the best impressions.

4. Keep Reader Engaged

Questioning the users who are reading would be nice idea to engage your reader on that email and will make sure that they are on it of what you are offering.

5. Include Social Network Links

Another great way to make follow of your own brand is to ensure that you include Twitter Profile page link, Facebook Fan Page & other social network link. This will ensure that they are still keeping an eye on you through any of your promotional medium. Its better to include social network links at the email footer or signature.

6. Increase the Scarcity of your Product

You must be knowing that the product which is demand will always be in scarcity, actually its the reverse followed everywhere, i.e., they intentionally make it scarcity to increase sales. So make sure that you make users to hurry up for the offers by offering them time frame limit.

7. Break your Message into smaller segments

It’s always good to break your message into targeted smaller segments. A good idea is to divide your lists based on the demographic locations or interests. Message in smaller segments makes its easier to scroll to the information which users are looking for.

8. Include Testimonials in Mails

It’s a good choice to include few testimonials in the mail of the product which you are offering and you could even link them to your testimonials page to read more testimonials. This will ensure that you are among the trusted sellers.

9. Put Important Links Multiple Times

It’s important to put important links multiple times in your email and ideally I would recommend to put it atleast 3 or 4 times which actually depends on the length of your mail.

10. Do more than Sale

It’s not just your sales are important, its making sure that people are reading your mail or message. So its important to make mail such a ways that its appealing to the audience as well as making sales for you. Remember that by making on sales you become purely commercial and often such mails are read. Another interesting idea would be to include poll in the mail, user reviews, user feedback or suggestions.

The above steps will ensure that you are right into the email marketing and have more tendencies to increase sales by increasing the click-through rate.

      This was just about email marketing but not about Feedburner feeds.

    Keeping the mail simple and clean, free from ads is the best part. You are targeting the mail readers to visit your website, then why to have the ads in the mail with that small greed of clicks?
    And yes, the idea of have ad-supported videos is not bad. That won’t disturb the readers. Keeping the readers engaged and more interested, is what we need.

    Don’t mean to be nitpicky, but sentences like “they intentionally make it scarcity to increase sales” make the article look unprofessional. There are plenty of such examples sprayed around generously on the article.

    However, the content is in general good. The website is a good resource.
