Earlier it was Infibeam Phi<\/a>, the the e-book reader that was quite popular in India and priced at Rs. 15000<\/a>, but that didn’t click much in terms of its features. Now its another similar reader launched, named the Wink reader which comes in with a few good features to talk about, and its the 2nd e-book reader launched in India. This is another attempt to copy the Amazon Kindle in terms of design, but Kindle holds itself steps ahead of Wink and Pi in many other aspects.<\/p>\n

Wink doesn’t come in a single make though, it has 2 different sizes and specifications which would make it different from the concepts of Amazon Kindle and Infibeam Pi and Phi. They call it the Reader A and Reader B.
\nThe standard reader is of the size 185mm(L) x 124.6 mm(W) x 10.9 mm(H) and the other make, i.e. Reader B is larger and of size 262mm(L) \u00d7 170mm(W) \u00d7 11.9mm(H). Even the weight is of a big difference, i.e. 260 gm and 420 gm respectively. The display is on gray-scale and the resolution is 800×600 pixels and 1024×768 pixels respectively. The screen size when measured diagonally is 6″ and 9″ diagonally. So the Reader B is more likely to have a size of an iPad for the screen.<\/p>\n

The Wink reader comes with a 2GB memory initially and it can be expanded to 16GB if you wish. And it supports a number of file formats like txt, pdf, rtf, doc, html, wolf, chm, fb2. And its also capable of playing music files of aac and mp3 formats. It is powered with a 400 MHz ARM9 processor, and you can browse the web using the GPRS with quadband. The battery life as claimed by the company, is very high and you can finish your entire travel journey of days with a single battery charge.
