One such round the clock protection is provided by Norton Internet Security 2011 by Symantec, the award-winning antivirus software. We had previously reviewed Norton Internet Security 2010<\/a> and Norton 360 with installation guide<\/a>.<\/p>\n

So here is what I have the original license copy of Norton Internet Security 2011 for 1 PC and its review, step by step installation guide. So let’s get into the specifications, features and customizations available in this package.<\/p>\n

Norton Internet Security 2011 Features<\/strong><\/p>\n

The only thing which lacks Internet Security 2011 is its ability of automatic backup of photos, music and files of 2GB as we have seen in Norton 360. Norton Internet Security protects you from attacks by viruses, spyware, worms, phishing, online identity thefts, cybercriminals, infected websites and dangerous downloads. NIS 2011 has the added features like<\/p>\n

Norton Safe Web –
\n<\/strong>
\nWith provided feature like Norton Safe it stops you from browsing a page which is not safer. It more often adds a safe icon to major search engine results indicating the site is safe or not. It also protects you from Facebook spam attacks and been prevented by been attacked by virus on your Facebook Profile.<\/p>\n

Proactive Performance Alerts-<\/strong><\/p>\n

Proactive performance option alerts you when a certain program is slowing down your pc so that you can make changes to improve the performance. So you will come to know what program is consuming what amount of memory.<\/p>\n

Norton identity Safe-<\/strong><\/p>\n

Norton 2011 is provided with Identity Safe for IE and Firefox add-on\/tool which keeps your personal data being stolen or caught by hackers. You can provide your personal data like credit card numbers, login address which will be encrypted by identity Safe in a personal profile and recalls it during fill forms at trusted web sites.<\/p>\n

Download Intelligence-<\/strong><\/p>\n

Provide information about the safe downloads to protect you against malware from being downloaded. Its helps you to tell whether a particular downloads file is safe or not.<\/p>\n

Improved Parental Controls Management-<\/strong><\/p>\n

By this you can track where you kids go and what they do online so that you can keep them safe from online dangers and so teach them good Internet habits.<\/p>\n

Speed and Performance-<\/strong><\/p>\n

As believed by many that Norton Products slow down the system but Norton Internet Security 2011 for is quick. I installed it within 3 minutes and quick scan didn’t took more than 5 minutes. However Full Scan has slowed down my PC to a fraction and I think it’s a normal since its was full deep PC scan. As expected I found suspicious files on my computer. Thanks to NIS 2011.<\/p>\n

Installation with Screenshots<\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/strong>You can install Norton Internet Security either from CD or from a USB drive or from a file that you have download. Here is the installation guide for Norton Internet Security 2011.<\/p>\n

1. The package comes with a CD which is autorun from the CD ROM. Click on Install Norton Internet Security to proceed with the installation.<\/p>\n

2. It took a little time for me to get into second step. Here you are asked to provide the Product Key. This is generally on the CD cover. Put it in the space provided and click on Agree and Install.<\/p>\n

4. The installation what I think is too quick when compared to other softwares and utilities.<\/p>\n

5. Once the software is installed, your product would be activated.<\/p>\n

6. This is optional. Provide your email address to get security updates and notifications from Norton (I thought of providing it).<\/p>\n

7. And then Norton Internet Security is ready to use.<\/p>\n

This interface includes all the details corresponding to your Norton product installed on your PC. There is map which is display the heat map of the cyber-crime activity around the world. You can turn off any functions at any time for 15 minutes, 1 hours, 5 hours or until reboot or permanently if you don’t require it.<\/p>\n

You can automatically download the latest version as they are released. Norton Internet Security for 1 year subscription for 1 PC (you can expand the usage by talking to the Norton Support by paying the price for the other license copies) is priced at Rs 1535.99 for Indian users for Indian based editions.
