Question :<\/strong> I was running around 100 different tabs before i closed the browser and now the problem is that whenever i try to restart the firefox browser<\/a> i find that the browser hangs again while loading these tabs. May be 1 or 2 tabs are the real culprits but iam not given any option to disable or close those specific tabs. Is there any other solution to completely delete all these tabs?<\/p>\n

Answer :<\/strong> The firefox browser would store all your session restore data in the ‘sessionstore.js’ file which would run when ever you restart your browser. Its suggested that you should kill the sessionstore.js file which would free up the browser from restoring all the tabs which were previously running on your browser.<\/p>\n

Another option is to run the browser in safe mode and then kill the ‘session restore’ feature. Unlike Google Chrome browser which offers you with the memory usage of different tabs running, which you can close individually you cannot perform the same task in firefox. <\/p>\n

You can also start your browser to run a specific website because this option would disable the session restore and then open the browser with only that specific website as shown below. Click on <\/p>\n

Start > Run > firefox.exe “www.google.com” <\/p><\/blockquote>\n

If you do not want to do this job manually you need to go to Firefox > Tools > Options > General > Startup and select the option ‘When Firefox starts : Show my home page or Show a blank page’ instead of the option ‘Show my Windows and tabs from last time’ which will ensure that next time you restart, it will show you only a single tab instead of the whole bunch.<\/p>\n
