Hey Amit, i have been using the facebook groups service from the past few days and have been impressed because of the colloboration feature. We have been performing group chats and also updating our team with some useful stuff all the time. Based on your suggestions we created a new group<\/a> and also Stopped Facebook Groups Notifications<\/a>. But is it possible to just unsubscribe from a single group or else the email notification im been sent from that specific group which i didn’t join in?<\/p>\n

Answer : Its good that you are using the groups feature of facebook for your business and enjoying what all they offer. But the bad part is that facebook allows anyone to make you a member of their groups without any confirmation and then all their group updates are sent to you via email. I will be showing you a example of one such group i personally didn’t join in but still was been sent huge email notifications.<\/p>\n

Check out the below screen capture from our email address where we are sent atleast 1 email every day from this group which we didnt ever plan to signup for. <\/p>\n

To fix this problem you will have to login to your facebook account and under the left side navigation links you need to click on that specific group which you would like to opt-out from. There are now two options left for you, one is to leave the group or else make changes to your settings. Lets proceed with both the steps one by one.<\/p>\n

Edit Settings to Stop Email Notifications : <\/strong>
\nOn the right side top of the group there is a button which says – Edit Settings, click on this and a small window would be shown to you. Here there are different notifications options listed where you need to ‘uncheck’ on the ‘Email notifications to:’ and then click on the save settings button. This would ensure that you don’t get any email when a member either posts or comments in the group. <\/p>\n

\nThis is a very simple task, because under the group itself there is a small option on the right side which says ‘Leave Group’. Click on this and then you would shown with a confirmation box to ensure that you would like to ‘Leave Group’.<\/p>\n

In the future whenever you would like to join back any of these left groups you can do it as a normal member and request the group owner to accept you as a member of the group.
