How are Google ads targeted? How does Google know when someone clicks on my ad?<\/strong><\/p>\n

The ads we display on a webpage are determined automatically by our system based on a number of factors such as the page content, linguistics, keyword analysis, word frequency, font size, and the overall link structure of the web.<\/p>\n

\"Google<\/a>When a user clicks on an ad on your website, Google receives a signal and records it. Your account is also updated with the impression and CPC data. When you log into the AdSense website the impressions, clicks, and earnings are for the date displayed in the drop-down menu next to ‘View’.<\/p>\n

What do you mean by CPC, CPM and CTR ?<\/strong><\/p>\n

CPC is the amount an advertiser pays each time a user clicks on his\/her ad. Google AdWords has a CPC pricing system. CPM stands for “cost per 1000 impressions.” Advertisers running CPM ads set their desired price per 1000 ads served and pay each time their ad appears. CTR is the number of link clicks divided by the number of link impressions.<\/p>\n

For publishers, this means you’ll earn revenue each time a CPM ad is served to your page. CPM ads compete against pay-per-click (or CPC, cost per click) ads in our ad auction, and we’ll display whichever ad is expected to earn more revenue for you.<\/p>\n

How do we determine if CPC or CPM ads are running on our site?<\/strong><\/p>\n

CPC and CPM ads will directly compete to show on your pages, and we’ll display whichever ad will generate the maximum revenue. Placement targeting will work to your benefit, as more competition among ads means higher potential earnings for you.<\/p>\n

To determine whether placement-targeted cost-per-thousand-impression ads are appearing on your site, visit your Advanced Reports page. Choose AdSense for content as the product and select to show data by ‘Individual Ad’ – you’ll see a checkbox titled ‘Show data by targeting type – contextual or placement.’ When you check this box, you’ll be able to see how many placement-targeted ads you’re displaying on your pages<\/p>\n

How do I implement code?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Once your AdSense application has been approved, you can follow our quick start guide which will help you generate AdSense code from your account<\/p>\n

1. Generate ad code on your website<\/p>\n

2. View the source code of your web page<\/p>\n

3. Select a spot between the opening and closing tags in your source code (What do you mean by BODY tags<\/a>?)<\/p>\n

There’s no need for us to review the site beforehand – simply copy and paste the ad code or search code onto your website, and we’ll automatically detect and serve ads to the new site.<\/p>\n
