The screenshots we used in this  guide are of QuickPwn Windows version but you can follow the same steps for Mac  version also. This guide is to jailbreak already unlocked iPhone 3G running  iPhone firmware 2.2.1 If you haven\u2019t upgraded to iPhone 2.2.1 please follow our  <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amitbhawani.com\/apple\/unlock-iphone-3g-tutorial\/\">guide here<\/a>. Since Dev team&#8217;s unlocking solution works exclusively with baseband  firmware 02.28.00, you will need to upgrade your iPhone 3G to iPhone firmware  2.2 without preserving its baseband.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Download QuickPwn 2.2.5-2 Mac Version <\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/miphone.ca\/iphone-dev\/QuickPwn225-2.zip\" target=\"_blank\">Download QuickPwn 2.2.5-2 Windows Version<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/appldnld.apple.com.edgesuite.net\/content.info.apple.com\/iPhone\/061-5828.20090127.aQLi8\/iPhone1,2_2.2.1_5H11_Restore.ipsw\"><strong>iPhone  3G 2.2.1 ipsw Download<\/strong><\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.itunes.com\/download\"><strong>Download iTunes.<\/strong><\/a> Once the download completes you can start the process of jailbreaking we recommend you to read this guide twice or thrice before getting started.<\/li>\n<li>Make a folder on your desktop &amp; name it Pwnage.Download the Firmware  2.2.1 &amp; Pwnage tool 2.2.5 &amp; place them in Pwnage folder you just created  on your desktop:Unzip\/Unrar the QuickPwn2.2.5-2.zip file inside the Pwnage  folder.<\/li>\n<li>Launch QuickPwn from the unzipped folder to start jailbreaking your iPhone  3G.<\/li>\n<li>Please ensure that your iPhone 3G is connected to your computer. QuickPwn  will automatically detect it and enable the blue arrow button, click it to  continue.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-186\" title=\"jailbreak-iphone-3g\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.amitbhawani.com\/apple\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/05\/jailbreak-iphone-3g-windows-1-300x263.jpg?resize=300%2C263\" alt=\"jailbreak-iphone-3g\" width=\"300\" height=\"263\" \/><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Now\u00a0 click browse and select the iPhone firmware 2.2.1 that you already  downloaded.<\/li>\n<li>QuickPwn will check if the firmware file selected is the same as the one  installed on your iPhone 3G, if valid it will enable the blue arrow button,  click it to continue.<\/li>\n<li>Now you will be prompted to install Cydia, Installer (both are preselected)  and if you would like to Replace the Boot Logos. Installing Cydia and Installer  is highly recommended to enjoy the power of Third Party Applications.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-187\" title=\"jailbreak-iphone-3g\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.amitbhawani.com\/apple\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/05\/jailbreak-iphone-3g-windows-5-300x263.jpg?resize=300%2C263\" alt=\"jailbreak-iphone-3g\" width=\"300\" height=\"263\" \/><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>QuickPwn will again prompt you to ensure that your iPhone 3G is connected to  your computer via USB, click the blue arrow button to continue.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-188\" title=\"jailbreak-iphone-3g\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.amitbhawani.com\/apple\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/05\/jailbreak-iphone-3g-windows-6-300x263.jpg?resize=300%2C263\" alt=\"jailbreak-iphone-3g\" width=\"300\" height=\"263\" \/><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>QuickPwn will now automatically put your iPhone into recovery mode.
