Panabee<\/figcaption><\/figure>Journalists often conduct the same search at multiple sites. For instance, a tech journalist writing about Twitter might look at Quantcast and Compete to see traffic analysis. They might also turn to TechCrunch and TechMeme to find stories about the start-up. They might then look at Twitter and Scoopler to see what people are saying in real-time about the company. They might also look up the executives on people search sites. They will probably also turn to Google or Bing to find general information. If the journalist is also a blogger, he\/she might need to find images for the blog post and thus turn to Flickr and Google Images. Rather than make journalists open windows for all these sites and retype the same query over and over again, you can do it all from Panabee — much more quickly and easily.<\/p>\n

Shoppers are similar. Someone searching for a new digital camera may start with Froogle or PriceGrabber. However, they may suspect a stale index from these aggregators and prefer real-time search. As a result, they search their favorite sites next, sites like Amazon, eBay, and Buy.com. Once again, Panabee streamlines the process, and by showing the underlying site, we provide assurances that results are not stale.<\/p>\n

\nWe are offering a faster way to search and compare information.<\/p>\n

\nWe will generate revenue through sponsored ads.<\/p>\n

3. Why did you start this website?<\/strong>
\nWe started Panabee because we often need to search multiple sites (e.g., Bing and Google, eBay and Amazon, Flickr and Google Images, Wal-Mart and Target) for the same query. We found this task annoying. Google is great 90% of the time, but it doesn’t return perfect results all the time. For these other times, we wanted a quick and simple way to search trusted sites.<\/p>\n

4. How are you planning to market it?<\/strong>
\nWe will target four user groups: journalists, bloggers, shoppers, and marketers. We believe these four constituencies most benefit from Panabee’s ability to search the same sites repeatedly (e.g., blogger needs to search image sites for images or reference sites for company\/general information). From there, we will leverage word-of-mouth and launch sponsored ad campaigns.<\/p>\n

7. Why is your site different than your competitors?<\/strong>
\nPanabee differs from traditional search engines because we show the site directly, and because we offer a side-by-side view. With other search engines, page indexing may be outdated, but because Panabee shows the underlying site (e.g., eBay, Amazon), search results are real-time and are guaranteed to be reliable.<\/p>\n

\nWe are self-funded.<\/p>\n

9. Did you develop this product yourself ie a Unique Idea or is it Inspired by someone else?<\/strong>
\nWe developed this product ourselves. It was inspired by Delicious and Google, as well as metasearch sites like Dogpile.<\/p>\n
