Blogging is something which cannot help you in getting visitors instantly from the search engines because you need to have content which would cater multiple search keywords. If you keep writing on the same topic and think that you will be ranking for the highly searched keywords<\/a> then you are probably wrong because its very important to rank for the key phrases than the major keywords.<\/p>\n

Many Bloggers keep trying to rank for the most major keywords instead of thinking about the long tail keywords which can help them get the most traffic. Here are few examples on how to get a idea on why iam suggesting you to work more on Key Phrases rather than Major Keywords.<\/p>\n

Top Website Search Keyphrases<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Total Searches for the last year on this blog where 15,07,978 from a total of 6,16,686 different key-phrases. Now if i would have just targeted some seriously major keywords i would have never attained this because this never stops and we keep fighting for the highest searched keywords while other get traffic for the long tail key phrases. The Top 10 Search Key phrases contributed to less than 5% in the total number of searches which comes to an surprise because we keep linking and linking in order to make sure we rank for some major keywords and increase our brand value but overall we just waste our time and efforts in this.<\/p>\n

From the total 1.5 Million searches you can see that around 6.16 Lakh key phrases helped me attain this number and out of this if i recheck the stats again not more than 50 Major keywords helped me. I did a lot of time waste in order to attain rankings for those Highly Searched Keywords but didn’t focus on these detailed stats which would help me get more traffic.<\/p>\n

Stop thinking about being Top 10 which would need 100% of your efforts and at the end you still would achieve at most 20-30% of your targets because its hard to rank for all the desired keywords which are highly searched. Rather if you would on the Long Tail keywords you can reach 70-80% of the targets and get 10x more traffic than you would have received on the other case. Lets discuss the same by taking an example and how i find out Long Tail keywords before writing blog articles and website content and get the maximum traffic.<\/p>\n

The keywords – ‘Unlock iPhone’ is having a Global Monthly Search Volume of 10,00,000 as get the Google Suggestion Tool but when you search for the Exact Number you will find that the real number is 90,500 Searches only and for this specific search you will find more than 145 Million search results which is seriously a very big number and hard to outrank others. While other bloggers keep working on ranking for this Major keyword i would prefer ranking for key-phrases like – Unlock ifone, mobile phone unlocking, unlock mobile phones, unlock sim card, 3g unlock etc which totally send me lot more traffic than the main keyphrase would have sent me.<\/p>\n
